Yeah, I didn't have any but I remember friends who did. I was lucky if I could afford to buy 45 record singles on my allowance... razz lol

I had the 2nd record as a kid. Was able to get it on Ebay plus 4 more Star Trek records for about $10

I finally got around to getting Netflix and have dived in with ST Discovery (I was a fan of all the previous ST series).

Must say, so far it's excellent. I'm 14 episodes in, so no spoilers please!

Why 'Star Trek: Discovery' Isn't on Netflix

Star Trek: Discovery has been a big success on Netflix internationally, but in the United States the series can only be watched on CBS’s propriety streaming service CBS All Access. Now the head of CBS is explaining why.

.

CBS chief Les Moonves spoke to a Wall Street audience at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference on Tuesday. He explained that Netflix offered a lot of money for the United States streaming rights to Star Trek: Discovery, but he also explained why CBS passed.

I'm not sure how the whole international access to websites are. Can you get CBS Access on-line from the UK? I myself refuse to and choose to buy it when it's on DVD.

No we can't, and I'm not sure entirely how the cross licencing works, but its clear when I'm watching some U.S. shows on netflix here that they are editted to allow for commercial breaks, even if we don't see any on Nexflix. I'm guessing that is because some shows are licenced from U.S. channels that don't operate in the EU (we don't get any access to CBS, NBC, ABC etc).

I was watching Designated Survivor on Netflix and it's clear its been editted for U.S. TV (cut points where commercial breaks would be inserted and always lasting approx 43 mins (for a 60 min broadcast on US network TV).

Wow didn't know this happened back in 2015. Dam, who knew Kes was a bad girl

FULL details of Jennifer Lien's arrest - Star Trek Voyager actress 'was naked' and 'threatened to kill police'

Details have emerged regarding the incident which took place a couple of weeks ago

Image result for kes voyager

Star Trek Voyager star Jennifer Lien was completely naked when police arrived at her house to arrest her.

The actress, who played Kes in the spin-off series, was arrested after allegedly exposing herself to three children under 13 two weeks ago.

Upon the police's arrival Jennifer reportedly refused to put her clothes on and had to be carried to the police car after threatening to kill the officers, according to US website TMZ. She was later charged with indecent exposure.

The 41-year-old has been in jail since her arrest on September 3rd and her bond is set at $2,500.

Jennifer was at her Tennessee home when she began arguing with her neighbour Carey Smith.

According to Smith, who made a complaint to the police, Jennifer launched into a rant over one of her crying children.

She claims she then started swearing before lifting her shirt up to expose herself in full view of her children.

She told CNN affiliate WATE: "She started flashing and, 'Woo hoo,' and I said, 'And what respect is that for kids?'

"There was none. And then she turned around and dropped her pants.”

The 41-year-old has been in jail since her arrest on September 3rd and her bond is set at $2,500.

This isn't Jennifer's first run-in with the law - back in April she was she was arrested and charged with evading arrest, resisting arrest, reckless endangerment and aggravated assault.

Jennifer appeared in Star Trek: Voyager as alien Kes from 1995 before she was released at the beginning of series four.

She also starred in a number of films, including American History X as older sister Davina Vinyard alongside Edward Norton's character Derek Vinyard.

Jennifer, who is married to writer and filmmaker Phil Hwang, retired from acting when her first child, son Jonah, was born in 2002

Most recent up date on bad girl Kes

Tuesday, March 13, 2018

Jennifer Lien (AKA Kes of "Star Trek: Voyager") Arrested & Charged with Driving with a Revoked License -- Twice in One Week!

It's been a while since I've written about Jennifer Lien, the former actress who played Kes on "Star Trek: Voyager." Kes was one of my favorite characters on that series and I was always disappointed that they wrote her out of the program.

But Lien has struggled over the past twenty years. She was arrested for domestic assault in 2012. Then in April 2015, she was arrested and charged with evading arrest, resisting arrest, reckless endangerment, and aggravated assault in relation to a speeding offense. Then back in September 2015, she got arrested and char... age of 13. Those final charges were eventually dismissed after she paid restitution.

TMZ now reports that Jennifer Lien has been arrested and charged with driving with a revoked license -- twice (!!) in the recent past. The first time was on 02/27/18 and the most recent arrest was on 03/02/18. Her most recent arrest came about after police noticed her driving without any visible tags. She lost her license because of a previous DUI.

What I like is that it seems as though "Overall" cast members of all the series tend to get along with each and from other the series (yes I know Sulu hates Kirk, honestly George Takai needs to let go, not good for the soul). Like when I went to the convention almost every one from TNG (Except Riker and Picard) was there. I was watching them all together and it really seem like a whole bunch of friends who knew each other for over 30 years just having a good time. I saw Marina Sirtis run behind Brent Spiner and just give him the biggest hug. Michael Dorn such a nice laid back guy, the guy you can ask to take you to the airport. Gates McFadden, a real sweet heart. But I know Marina Sirtis does not like Avery Brooks, because she said so.

Star Trek: The Next Generation is 30 – where are they all now?

Picard, Troi, Riker, Q…

BY
28 SEPTEMBER 2017

It might be tough to hear, but it's been three decades since Star Trek soared back onto our screens. 30 years ago today (September 28), The Next Generation introduced Gene Roddenberry's groundbreaking sci-fi franchise to a whole new... well, generation.

But where are the classic cast of Star Trek: TNG now? Brew up a drink (Tea. Earl Grey. Hot.) and Engage as we catch up with the crew of the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-D).

Patrick Stewart (Captain ...uc Picard)

© GETTY IMAGES PAUL MORIGI/CBS

With his background in theatre and Brit TV classics like I, Claudius, Patrick Stewart was never going to struggle for work when his Trekking days were over. He has continued to tread the boards as Macbeth and King Claudius, while also taking classics to the screen in sizzling TV adaptations. He also voices Avery Bullock on American Dad and several roles on Family Guyand still has time to play Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men movies, opposite bessie mate Ian McKellen.

He's also the coolest man in the world.

Jonathan Frakes (Commande...iam Riker)

© GETTY IMAGES ALBERT L. ORTEGA

As he continued to play Riker, Jonathan Frakes slipped into the directing chair to make First Contact in 1996 (and the not-quite-as-good Insurrection a couple of years later), before directing the Thunderbirds big-screen movie in 2004.

More recently, Frakes has starred or directed episodes of a host of US TV shows, including Criminal Minds, NCIS: Los Angeles, Falling Skies, Agents of SHIELD and Switched at Birth.

LeVar Burton (Geordi La Forge)

gallery_ustv-star-trek-the-next-generation-cast-levar-burton-3.jpg
© GETTY IMAGES ALBERT L. ORTEGA

As well as guest spots on various TV shows, LeVar Burton had a voice gig as Doc Greene in Transformers: Rescue Bots and Perception's professor of cultural anthropology Paul Haley. He is also known to many as the host of kids series Reading Rainbow, resurrected as an app in 2012.

The show was thrust back into the public consciousness in 2015 when Burton set up a Kickstarter for its revival. It raised over $5 million in days, making it the sixth-highest amount raised in the site's history at the time.

Trek lover Seth MacFarlane donated an extra million dollars for good measure.

Denise Crosby (Tasha Yar)

© CBS GETTY IMAGES/JB LACROIX

Originally cast as Deanna Troi, she had her role swapped with Marina Sirtis (below) and became the short-lived but much loved Tasha Yar. Killed off after 22 episodes, she returned due to some timey-wimey fun, and went on to produce and narrate 1997's Trekkies doc and its 2003 follow-up.

As well as stage work, you may well recognise Crosby as Deb in Showtime's classy Ray Donovan and – of course – as Mary in AMC's The Walking Dead.

Michael Dorn (Worf)

gallery_ustv-star-trek-the-next-generation-cast-michael-dorn.jpg
© CBS GETTY IMAGES/ALBERT L. ORTEGA

One of the few TNG stars to pick up a regular role in follow-up Deep Space Nine, Dorn is well-known for his broad vocal range. As well as a raft of Trek video games featuring his booming bass tones, you'll hear him on the Saints Row and World of Warcraft titles.

Not too long ago, he proposed the return of Worf in a new Star Trek miniseries. "I love the character and I think he's a character that hasn't been fully developed and hasn't been fully realised," he explained. "Interestingly enough it has gotten traction." Let's hope Worf is not de...once more!

Gates McFadden (Doctor Beverly Crusher)

gallery_ustv-star-trek-the-next-generation-cast-gates-mcfadden.jpg
© CBS GABRIEL GRAMS/FILMMAGIC

Despite being written out of the show in favour of Dr Katherine Pulaski (Diana Muldaur), McFadden made her triumphant return for the third season.

When Trek was done, McFadden had a sprinkling of TV, movie and theatre roles. She has also helped bring on The Next Generation of acting talent as an acting teacher at several universities, and is now the co-artistic director of the Ensemble Studio Theatre of Los Angeles, which aims to create "an environment that encourages the initiation, exercise, and practice of artistic imagination and expression".

Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi)

gallery_ustv-star-trek-the-next-generation-cast-marina-sirtis.jpg
© GETTY IMAGES GEORGE ROSE/GABE GINSBERG/FILMMAGIC

The London-born Marina Sirtis was always a fan favourite as half-Betazoid Counselor Deanna Troi. After Trek, she enjoyed TV roles on both sides of the Atlantic, including a famous guest spot on Casualty in 2001 and Holby City seven years later.

She has voiced Mass Effect video game character Matriarch Benezia and more recently has played Director of Mossad Orli Elbaz on CBS's NCIS. Heartbreakingly, she is also fan of Tottenham Hotspur and has a Spurs tattoo on her shoulder. The glee she takes in poor Arsenal results shows a startling lack of empathy.

Brent Spiner (Commander Data)

gallery_ustv-star-trek-the-next-generation-cast-brent-spiner.jpg
© GETTY IMAGES GEORGE ROSE/IMEH AKPANUDOSEN
ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW

Spiner has played small-but-key roles in a host of films since he put away his android make-up, including an especially memorable turn as Conan O'Brien in South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut.

His genuinely hilarious Fresh Hell webseries poked fun at himself putting his career back on track post-Trek. A glance at his IMDb page shows how Brent has been trusted as an on-screen doctor many times over, and he very recently played a therapist in Ray Donovan, where of course his former TNG castmate Denise Crosby made a splash.

He also returned to Star Trek to play Dr Arik Soong, an ancestor of Data's creator, in Enterprise, and his other high-profile role of Dr Okun in Independence Day: Resurgence.

Wil Wheaton (Wesley Crusher)

gallery_ustv-star-trek-the-next-generation-cast-wil-wheaton.jpg
© CBS CHELSEA LAUREN/WIREIMAGE

Wil Wheaton has 2.71 MILLION followers on Twitter, and is today as well known for his ever-sharp chat about gaming, politics, the web, blogging and the media as he is for playing the adorable/infuriating Wesley Crusher.

He continues to act in movies and especially on TV, famously as a fictionalised version of himself in The Big Bang Theory. Wheaton also hosted his very own weekly topical comedy show The Wil Wheaton project on SyFy.

Colm Meaney (Miles O'Brien)

gallery_ustv-star-trek-the-next-generation-cast-colm-meaney.jpg
© CBS STUART C. WILSON/GETTY IMAGES

You don't need to ask where Colm Meany has been. As well as featuring in Deep Space Nine, Meany has been an ever-present on our cinema screen. He's been everyone from Don Revie in The Damned United to Gene in Layer Cake.

More recently, he starred opposite Steve Coogan in Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa. The only man in our TNG batch without an active Twitter profile, Meany was busy till 2016 playing First Transcontinental Railroad investor Thomas 'Doc' Durant in AMC's Hell on Wheels, and was a regular in the short-lived Shakespeare biopic series Will.

John de Lancie (Q)

gallery_ustv-star-trek-the-next-generation-cast-john-de-lancie.jpg
© CBS COLLEEN HAYES

The enigmatic Q had a habit of popping up when you least expected it, including in episodes of DS9 and Voyager. John de Lancie has a similar habit, with guest spots in everything from The West Wing and Law & Order: LA to Charmed.

He kept his sci-fi hand in with spots in Stargate SG-1 and Torchwood: Miracle Day, but his most impressive role in recent years was Donald Margolis in Breaking Bad, the father of Jesse Pinkman's ill-fated girlfriend/landlady Jane. He more recently guest starred on The Mentalist.

Whoopi Goldberg (Guinan)

gallery_ustv-star-trek-the-next-generation-cast-whoopi-goldberg.jpg
© GETTY IMAGES ALAN LEVENSON/THE LIFE IMAGES COLLECTION/DOUGLAS GORENSTEIN/NBC

A superstar before Star Trek, Whoopi has continued to star in films – as characters or often just as herself. Many will also know her as the face of ABC's The View, one of the most successful daytime talkshows in America, where she has moderated the panel for the last eight seasons.

She also features in the latest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie as Bernadette Thompson, a female version of April O'Neil's boss Burne Thompson.

I guess if they are all going to keep meeting up at these events they ought to try and get along as best as possible. But in truth I think they tend to be good natured people for some reason, even the serious ones.
