Flat Earth Rocket Dude says he's ready to launch

Remember the Flat Earth Rocket dude? Not to be confused with Little Rocket Man, mind you. No, Flat Earth Rocket Dude is the guy who built his own rocket and was going to launch it - with him in it - to prove that the Earth is flat. Amazingly, the US government put the kibosh on that, but only because he wanted to use public lands for the launch and recovery.

Well, Flat Earth Rocket Dude has solved THAT problem.

He's going to launch straight up, and come straight down, thus staying off gubmint land. All this fun is supposed to happen February 3rd.

I hope the guy survives whatever happens. Because despite how insane and whacky he is, anyone that can utter these words is some kind of an American hero:

“I am the only man in history to design then build then launch myself in my own rocket,” he added. “So fly your drones up your ass.

https://gizmodo.com/rebuf...1822364177

And here is his Facebook page, in case you want to monitor transmissions from his tinfoil hat between now and launching:

Flat-Earther's Homemade Rocket Has Got A New Launch Date

by Tom Hale

“Mad” Mike Hughes shot into the limelight last year after announcing plans to launch himself in a homemade rocket with sponsor "RESEARCH FLAT EARTH” painted on the side.

Well, unfortunately for Mike and thousands of curious onlookers, the launch was ditched at the last moment due to unforeseen circumstances. Now, “Mad” Mike is back to conclude his 15 minutes of fame with a new launch date.

.

According to an announcement on his Facebook page, Hughes says he hopes to pull off a vertical rocket launch on February 3, at a new site in Amboy, a ghost town in California. The launch will be live-streamed on Noize TV for those with a subscription and will be filmed for Mike's own full-length documentary.

.

If you were hoping to witness it for yourself, sorry but Mike is insisting no spectators.

"Any drone flying near the private property will be shot down – our own drones will be recording anyone filming and their license plates and the CHP will run people off along with my own security," he said, in another Facebook post, which also came with the warning: "Also, some of the crazy comments [on Facebook] will be featured in my documentary."

.

Hughes’ previous attempt was stopped by the US Bureau of Land Management who said he didn’t have the appropriate permission to launch himself in a rocket. The original plan was to launch himself in the steam-powered rocket at speeds of up to 800 kilometers per hour (500 miles per hour). Pretty impressively, Hughes said he build the rocket himself for just $20,000. By the looks of his latest social media posts, he has crafted a new rocket for this launch, the specifications of which are not clear.

.

Hughes – the so-called "last great daredevil" – is a 61-year-old limousine driver and stuntman who believes that the Earth is flat. The launch is intended to be a literal publicity stunt for this peculiar worldview and sets the path for future flat-Earthers to take to the skies in their quest to prove the globe is flat. (Spoiler: it isn't.)

.

Hughes, who describes his plan as "the ultimate Wile E. Coyote move,” and is also planning to run for governor of California admits the flat-Earth theory is a conspiracy but insists “Flat-earth divides people and that’s the last thing we need these days, more divided people."

.

“All I’m saying is people should look into it or investigate it, just like they should investigate and research everything in their lives,” he told the Philly Voice last week. “Research the post office. Look into everything. Santa Claus. The Easter Bunny. The Bush family. Research your City Council. That’s where they start stealing the money from you in the first place.”

Stay safe up there, Mike.

My drones, your drones, it's like he doesn't have a friend to tell him when to STFU. He doesn't want cameras there? Shocker.

Question the Easter Bunny and Santa Clause? Who hasn't figured that one out yet?

Bush family? Really? A little late to that one... lol

It really wasn't a question in my mind the first time this ass-clown was in the news but now it's confirmed. He should go back under whichever rock he crawled out from.

You know, he should really re-think this, but I believe this won't happen. These guys are way too sure of themselves.

He and the head transplant guy need to go have a picnic somewhere and talk about all the things they plan on doing.

I love that Flat Earthers completely ignore the fact that insanely long and complicated mathematical equations have been used to launch rockets into space, put those rockets in orbit, put satelites in orbit, visit the moon, land on the moon, ALL with numbers taking into consideration that the Earth and the moon are ROUND. Literally, NOTHING would be in space without that math. It's quantifiable. It's proven. Oh yeah, then there's this thing where we use math to send satelites to other planets by slinging them AROUND other planetary bodies. lol lol Endlessly entertaining. There's a hundred other arguments I could make for why they are complete idiots, but that will always be my favorite one to ask them to explain.

So did he do it

Download all the shit hop that you can for your kids, neices, nephews, and their friends also. That will prevent them from going out and buying it and will prevent some shit hop sales. Every little bit helps - Andy

I wonder what the odds are of him actually managing to get the rocket off the ground and then, through his little experiment, realises that the Earth is in fact a sphere, and then actually acknowledging that he was wrong. I bet he'd still lie to himself and convince himself that the earth was flat.

People who buy into these kinds of conspiracies will never, ever admit they are wrong. I don't care what evidence you provide them. It absolutely will not matter.

Trust me on this.

maybe some kind soul should just buy him a ride on that stratosphere plane http://www.flymigsokol.co...ght_mig29, and fly him around the world while delivering a lecture on the geophysical properties of the universe, including accretion of matter into sphere shaped bodies, examples of which are numerous on earth and in space. i mean, talk to the guy, teach him something and blow his mind out in space.. don't just kill him off lol that's what i'd do anyway
