I've also owned a custom upright arcade machine packed with emulators. The ones in bold italics I still own today.

If I had to pick a favourite out of all of them it would be the SNES with the PS1 a close second.

Good thing is, the Atari 7800 plays 2600 games. That's why I refuse to buy a PS4. Most of my game library is PS3/PS2. Why spend all that loot for a system that's not backwards compatible? Fuck that shit.

The mini SNES is not in italics. Did you get shot of it? Those things are like gold dust.

Yeah, I sold it to my brother (face value) ... it was really good but my Raspberry Pi does exactly the same thing. It was a bit of an impulse buy as I saw SNES and thought "gotta have it".

I've heard they're hard to come by but where I am (south east UK) my local Game have had a couple of the shelf ever since they came out and they had plenty for pre-order.

My original NES which I've had since I was 3 is still in perfect working order. Same with my SNES and N64 and none of those were new when I got them. And they still work 20 - 25 years later.

My SNES and NES are both still working to, though I guess the chip board connectors on the carts would wear out over time, hence I limit my use of them. I've had two PS3s die though. I assume the more complex internals have something to do with that but who knows, maybe not.
