I love the silent hill games ive played and completed and got all the endings on silent hill 1, 2, 3, the room, downour and homecoming I havent played shattered memories and origins yet but will do when I get a pc with a decent gfx card ive only onboard at the moment. I always remember the first time I played the first one to this day the scariest game Ive ever played especially when you first get to the school its creepy as fuck. On the subject of games has anyone played resident evil 7 ive heard thats alot like a silent hill games?

I'm just like everybody else I need love.....and water.

I've never even heard of the Silent Hill games but I've played Resident Evil 7 on the PSVR. Well, I say I've played it, I took the headset off after 10 minutes of pure terror and I will never play it again. It was the single most terrifying experience of my life.

I don't know. Scaring the fuck out of myself isn't my idea of fun. Horror games are not my thing. I only played Resident Evil because it was in VR. Big mistake.

More of a Resi fan myself (original Resi on PS1 is my fave game of all time) ... not sure why I never got in to the Silent Hill games to, probably didn't have the money to pick them up as a kid.

Haven't gone back to the them as the graphics haven't aged well but would totally play a HD remake if one ever came out.

Have you tried the VR one? It's absolutely terrible. I'm sure it's a great game but the VR works TOO well. I literally felt like I was about to be murdered. My brother loves it but I can't handle it. Even my fiancé thought it was terrifying. Mind you, it caught him by surprise. I told him it was Batman LOL

There was a HD remake of 2 and 3 for the xbox360 and ps3 but it was dreadful and built on unfinished code if you play them play them on the ps2 emulator they look amazing with the right plugins or silent hill 2 and 3 pc releases are really good.

My friend and I played the first one (a long time ago) and we would turn the lights off and run the sound through his stereo. The first time a wall bust open next to us...really loud...I think we were on drugs...scared the crap out of us! We had to play it until the end, we were hooked.

Been playing other old favorites on my PS4 maybe I need to check whatever the current one is.

You mean Resident Evil 7? Would have loved the the VR version but I couldn't justify spending that much on all the gear for it ... I heard it was intense though. The normal version was freakly enough!!

I saw they were also selling a candle with the game that you had to light when you played the VR version, which gave you the smell of the environment. I was intrigued to pick one up ... dead cat and wood rot incense was what I imagined! biggrin

So cruel on you fiance!! LoLsss biggrin

Everything about that game was awesome, even the cheesy acting!! I was 15 when it came out and I loved the build up to it, the strange adverts with bathtubs of blood, the short demo, etc. The game totally lived up to the hype. And good old Barry Burton, who can forget.

I hope they're still cracking on with the remake of Resident Evil 2 ... its been very quiet on that front lately.

Why would anybody want that candle? I feel sick just thinking about what that would smell like.

And yet I'm intrigued...

I'm a fan of the series.
I beat 1, 2, 3. Had multiple endings lol I can't remember if I beat The Room.
I have Downpour? Homecoming but never got around to finishing them.

I remember playing thses games late night in the dark with the surround sound on. Graphics on some games are now dated, but they sure creepy good at the time.
The crying ghost baby walking around in the room was unsettling

The controls were never that great, but don't stop me from playing

I was pretty excited when they made movies, but they weren't too good

You ever try the Fatal Frame series? Loved that game.
Again I remember playing alone in the dark ..11 o'clock at night.
With surround sound.. I had to turn if off lol
Cant believe my purple psychedelic pimp slap pimp2

I believe ps2 and xbox. I think they dated around 2003 - 2005
theres 3 games in the series that were available in the usa
Its a ghost game in a Japanese setting. Your only weapon is a camera.
You have to take pictures of the ghost before they attack you.
The better the shot the more damage you do

Its dark spooky it has plenty of ghost moaning and jump scares
They were good games

Edit : Platforms PlayStation 2, Nintendo 3DS, Wii, Wii U, Xbox

Definitely get on to Resi 7 ... if you liked Fatal Frame and Silent Hill you'll love it. And unlike a lot of games these days its not stupdily long. I beat the game in a few nights, but still felt that it was a full experience and well worth the money.

Another game I loved that you'll enjoy is Gone Home. Its an indie game rather than a full release ... I got it free on PS Plus back in 2016 and its one of the best game experiences I've had last few years. I won't say too much as it'll give things away but its played in the first person and you have to wander a creepy house looking for clues.

YES! Gone Home is excellent. One of my favourite games on the ps4. I love that game so much. My fiancé isn't a big fan of games in general but I bought him an Xbox one X for Christmas in the hope that we'd play it together but the first game I ordered him to play was Gone Home. And even he thought it was amazing. And it takes a lot to impress him when it comes to games and movies and stuff.
