I don't get stuck very often because I tend not to play games I think might be too difficult for me but one game that really pissed me off was Quantum Break on the Xbox One. All throughout the game its really easy (especially on the 'easy' difficulty setting) but then you come to the final fight and all of a sudden it gets unfairly difficult. After about 30 attempts at it I just gave up and got my brother to do it for me because I just wasn't bothered at that stage.

Another game I got stuck on is Metal Gear Solid 5. I'd never played any other games in the series but my brother insisted I give it a try and it was brilliant. I had a lot of fun until I got to a part where I had to fight a sniper and she kept killing me so I turned it off and never turned it on again.

Star Wars and Mega Man 2 on the NES. Games were brutal back in those days.

I also got stuck on the first level of Operation Raccoon City on PS3 ... assume I was doing something wrong as there's no way the intro level should be that hard, but I've not gone back to the game since.

Fucking "Dark Souls" on the Xbox 360 fucked me over so many times it took me a year and a half to finish that fucking "game"... Felt real satisfying though to finish it... Last time a game gave me such a challenge was decades ago with "Impossible Mission" on the C64 in the 1980's...

I don't understand why anyone would want to play a game like Dark Souls. Isn't life difficult enough without that kind of thing?

I bought the game guide for that game eventually, I'm still the same. These days i hit youtube walkthroughs. The Alduin invincibility bug in Skyrim pissed me off for more than awhile before i resorted to that.

Life is easy and if you choose to make it difficult then so be it...
And "Dark Souls" is mere entertainment to escape the boredom and stupidity of society... But this shouldn't have to be explained, should it?

My life is easier than most but still not as easy as I'd like it to be.

And why would anyone need Dark Souls to provide an escape from the boredom and stupidity of society when we have you? Your posts are entertaining enough.

on thing i have hated about some games is that some parts are just too picky... i have tried to do what seemed reasonable and failed only to find out I was correct but missed it by a hair or had to talk to someone before I could do whatever it was...(that happend in the new zelda at least twice)

It took me years to get through Halo because I'd get stuck on a level, give up, and go back to Madden or College Football. lol

I played Halo on the easy difficulty setting because I was only in it for the story and I still got stuck a lot. Killing the bad guys wasn't the difficult part, but because everywhere looks the same, I kept getting lost and going around in circles.

I cannot help but to laugh at all of you! lol Are you not aware that it is always a good idea to get some passwords and "cheat codes" from gaming manuals in order to better your chances of finishing any video game? I cannot even began to tell you how freaking difficult playing a game like Super Contra on the NES without knowing the "cheat codes" to allow me to start the game with 30 lives instead of 3.

Maybe some people enjoy the challenge instead of cheating.

The enjoyment of getting your ass kicked by Mike Tyson when playing Mike Tyson's Punch-Out on the NES gets tried after a hour, hence why gaming tips, passwords, a "cheat codes" are necessary. It's a lot more fun finishing the game by winning the whole thing. wink

EDIT due to lack of spellcheck.

They don't have cheat codes in modern day video games. You're just showing your age smile

Tips are cool, cheats are for dumbasses too ignorant to learn a skill...
Why play a game if you're gonna cheat? Seems like a huge waste of time...

Exactly zelda ocarina of time as far as Im aware doesnt even have cheats you have to work out each dungeon I was stuck for ages on the water temple because its very confusing you have to hit switches which raise and lower the water in different rooms I just hadnt been in a specific room when it was water filled which lead to an area I couldnt reach Im so glad I figured it out myself though.

In the internet age I run out of patience fast and usually consult a guide. I haven't been stuck for long since the SNES era. It was satisfying to beat games without a guide but it was emotionally draining every time I was stuck.

That was me.

Also, defeating Darth Tyrannus/Count Dooku in the Episode III game was hard.

I have used some cheats in the later resident evil series where its just shooting shit but if the game has got a great design and story I like to try to work it out. zelda ocarina of time and majorcas mask were joys to complete.
