Mulder was such a lovable Drunk & Hoe on Californication...He made a great transition and won Golden Globes for BOTH HIT roles...

I'm tempted to add X-Files reboot to my DVR list....The trailers remind me of Classic X-Files...Hmmm, we'll see....

Looking forward to watching this later but really concerned about the mythology episodes... Chris Carter has written himself into a corner he can't get out of. I don't think he can follow today's standard of the best TV shows really.

Hey loudmouth, shut the fuck up, right?

My Struggle III

Mulder and Scully learn that they aren't the only ones desperately searching for their long-lost son, William. The very fate of the world may depend on it

Slightly better than expected except for THE worst car chase I have ever seen, Mulder's ridiculous explanatory monologues and that final twist. I read fans and going batshit crazy - rightfully so, I think.

SPOILERS...

Groan... Worst episode ever? It's definitely in the running. There were only 6 episodes in the previous season and this season premiere retcons the season finale. It didn't happen. It was all some seizure vision that Scully had? GTFOOHWTBS! Oh well, maybe the "monster of the week" episodes will be good. Let's hope so, because the series "mythology" storyline has just shit the bed.

Not for me. I know some X-Files fans like the "funny" episodes, but for me those silly episodes never worked

By "monster of the week", I do not mean the "funny" episodes. I mean the "one and done" episodes that are not part of the on-going storyline that has spanned the entire series.

Yep... Seems like the oldest trick in the book and one that no one with a bit of self-respect uses anymore. lol

I haven't caught any of the new episodes, but I am one who did enjoy when they got slap sticky with it. Right now, I'm thinking of the ep when Michael Mckean and Fox switched bodies and they did a lil Harpo with the mirror dance razz. A lil Duck Soup goes a long way, that shit was classic.

Heck yea. I also enjoyed the Xmas ep with Lily Tomlin and Ed Asner. It had some cheeky stuff in it. I do believe Fox dropped a "left cheek sneak" line in there razz.

I think it's just become a thing now to crap all over Chris Carter and the mythology episodes.

Back in the day those were the episodes that got everyone all excited.

This episode had its "groan" moments but with the word out (and the help of social media) that Chris Carter is a hack, it's now become legend.

I have nothing against Carter or the mythology episodes. I have a problem with THIS episode. It sucked. He pulled a Bobby In The Shower/Dallas move on the final episode of the last season, which he also wrote and directed, iirc. That's just sloppy and lazy.

Still looking forwad to the rest of the season, including the mythology episodes. cool

Hollywood now likes to use the "one year later" to deal with story lines they just know how to write, like in the case of Kevin can wait and how they dealt with the death of his wife on the show.

I don't know what Kevin Can Wait is. I assume it's a show?

Yup, killed off his wife to bring his former co-star of the tv show King of Queens

Aha. With few exceptions, I've stopped watching sitcoms, especially on the networks. I wasn't even aware of this show... razz

Yes I never seen this show as well. Though fans of this show also felt like the writers chicken out with the "one year later" crap.

^Loved it! It was like being back in 1994 or something (let's completely forget last season and all the movies except for the first one). Excellent, can't wait for next week.

Yes! The story was ok (I think it's an interesting topic, but it suffers from being rushed through in 45 minutes), but I liked that it was half stand-alone, half mythology. But OMG, Scully and Mulder this week... love "I don't care if it came out of an alien's butt, I'm gonna eat the whole thing." lol

i'm loving this season. mulder and scully bantering and flirting - their characters seem so much more relaxed and humorus. interesting story line, the notion that we live in a simulation and that the 'universe' is a program of some kind. imo season 10 and 11 are actually better than the 1990s seasons. jutt my 2c
