I'm in upstate New York. For those in the path of this snow & wind, I do hope you're hunkered down and staying safe. We have food, and will unlikely have a power outage. It's been snowing & blowing all day (but not as bad as upstate near Buffalo, etc). The roommate is stopping on the way home to pick up a few extras for us. I'm making a big pot of chicken stew for us tonight. Our high on Saturday is supposed to be 0ºF. ZERO - as a HIGH.

When I get up every day I ask Alexa for the weather report as I'm getting dressed. The first thing she said today was that we are under a wind chill warning until Monday morning. I've never heard that one before in NY - at least not recently.

Everyone - stay safe, have candles, water, batteries etc nearby. Keep your phones charged and regulate your thermostat. Make sure your Netflix or Prime is paid up and binge the fuck out of something.

The snow is bad, but not horrible.

It's the COLD that gets me.

I am sore as hell today from all that shoveling. Probably got about 15".

We got quite a bit but yeah, the cold is what's a bitch. It's after 1pm ET, and it's 5ºF. The wind chill warning is still in effect. It's really harsh. I think the worst is coming tomorrow, though.

I made chicken soup last night. It was a great winter food dinner. We're doing everything we can to stay warm until the heat wave of low 30s next week.
