Issa Rae Announces New Sci-Fi Series ‘The Awoken’

The Awoken is a sci-fi drama chosen from more than 2,000 entries, and revolves around Alabine Rivers, a teenager who was cryogenically preserved in 2017 only to be resurrected in 2103. The protagonist also struggles to piece together flashbacks and memories of Max, a fellow activist and the love of her life who she assumes she left behind in the 20th century.

Someone on Twitter linked an article that claimed HBO is taking on two new shows from Issa..The other show is a Black Bisexual Comedy centered around a Male...

Yes it is. I may be more apt to noticing blacks especially black woman involved in sci-fi and science based stories.
