eek "What I'm saying . . . is that I got your back either way. You got mine?" okay then. Eugene are you still really Negan? leave man, run far and fast...

and even though it was nice to see Rick and Daryl together again, it ain't cool seeing them fighting each other.

what next?

Last night’s episode was excellent! So cool that we finally got to see Michonne and Rosita again.
It has been revealed that Morgan is the character that will leave the show and be placed on the spinoff show ‘Fear The Walking Dead”.

is Eugene even going to survive this season?

http://comicbook.com/2017/12/04/the-walking-dead-crossover-timelines-eugene-morgan-/

"McDermitt, however, is up to follow James' lead by joining Fear the Walking Dead should the opportunity present itself. Of course, he is also aware of the conflicting timelines which might not allow him to ever do so.

"It would be cool," McDermitt said. "I don't know what they're doing with the show in terms of the timelines and stuff like that. I know the timelines don't match up. I wonder if it would even work. But if there's a way for Eugene to pop up on Fear the Walking Dead, I would totally do it. We'll see. I think it's a good thing to bridge those two worlds. Before, they used to say we would never cross. But I think you have to. That's what makes it interesting and cool. It's a cool shot in the arm for Fear the Walking Dead, and bringing over a solid actor like Lennie and a solid character like Morgan showing up in that storyline? It's going to be huge. I just wish maybe they could have brought Baby Judith over there instead. What a cop-out!"

I thought they might have let that slip ... when Lennie James was talking on The Talking Dead about joining Fear he got quite emotional when he mentioned saying goodbye to the Walking cast and crew. Melissa Mcbride (Carol) was in the studio and seemed to get emotional to.

Surely if moving to Fear was only temporary while they filmed and he was coming back to the next season of Walking he wouldn't get that cut up about saying "see you later" to the guys and girls he's been working with? It was quickly followed by The Talking Dead host reading a statement from writer Scott Gimple saying Morgan still had story to tell on Walking but I'm wondering if that was just to draw us off the scent.

^interesting points. still wondering how they will off Morgan??? by savior or zombie attack? specifically, could one of his own people somehow kill him off? i hope Jesus doesn't do it. Or, Carol. i'd rather see Morgan die a hero's death in some kind of military stand-off, rather than die in some kind of internal squabble.

it's cool the shows are overlapping. i'd love to see a Walking Dead/Trailer Park Boys crossover, or maybe a Trailer Park Boys/Ride with Norman Reedus cross-over. i mean, if Jadus and the trash pile people can exist in TWD, then why not toss in some even more colorful folk occasionally? biggrin

SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT

http://comicbook.com/thewalkingdead/2017/12/11/walking-dead-carl-death-chandler-riggs-reaction/

this took me by surprise too...

The Walking Dead mid-season 8 finale dropped a massive bomb on fans, when it was confirmed in the final moments of the episode that Carl is indeed facing a death sentence, after receiving a fatal bite from a walker. You may be surprised to know that of all the people surprised ...nal reveal of this latest episode ("How It's Gotta Be), the person most shocked by it was probably Carl Grimes actor Chandler Riggs!

Speaking with EW, Riggs was asked the standard question of how he reacted when first learning he was going to be the next character on the show to die. That's when we got this surprising response:

"I honestly thought he was joking the first time he said it, because Scott has a pretty good sense of humor and we joke around a lot. So I thought he was joking. When I realized he wasn’t, it was quite the shocker, because I was really looking forward to the story arc from the comic book with another group, the Whisperers. Carl has a really, really cool interaction with one of the members of that whole group and I was super excited to do that whole story line."

That answer makes it sound like the young actor is somewhat bittersweet about how his character arc is coming to an end. Clearly Riggs heard that negativity in his own tone, because he just as quickly flipped it around to highlight the rich opportunity the death of Carl will afford him:

"...in terms of typecasting and my career, it’s the best move for me. For my acting career in general, it’s definitely not going to end up being a bad thing. I’m super stoked to be doing bigger things and other things I haven’t had a chance to do before."

ikr? kirkman and gimple are so wacky the shark jumped them nuts lol

i dunno about the direction this show is going in though, i mean what's the point if Carl is gone? he was everyone's hope for the future, so where does that leave us... he'll probably die an heroic death in a suicide bomber kind of way. i'm not looking forward to watching Carl die.

i read that Chandler Riggs and Andrew Lincoln were both totally taken by surprise.

I think this might be the start of the show wrapping up ... two more seasons maybe.

I reckon this season will end with the big Hill Top battle that was done in the comics, Negan goes down, time jump, Whisperer War, Rick dies a heroes death to be 'reunited' with Carl. Judith is a bit older now so is the hope/future along with Daryl, Carol and Maggie. Walking Dead will continue as a franchise via spin-offs.

Viewing figures have been dropping considerably. Chandler Riggs and the other actors didn't know about his death, so maybe the producers and writers had a behind the scenes story rethink and have changed direction sharply to wind it all up. Plus I doubt that Andrew Lincoln will want to do this forever. He's already spoken about the bind that is getting in shape every year and the uphevel for his family.

I quite like that they are moving away from the comics ... makes the show less predictable.

That's the biggest thing that's getting on my tits at the moment ... the opportunities they've had to sort Negan out and people don't take their shot.

Last night was the worst. Negan is down on the floor at Rick's feet, Rick gets hold of Lucille, and what does he do? He jabs him in the chest with it. Good god man, take a full swing at his skull ...!!!

I cannot see the Walking Dead going on much longer.

So many of the original crew is gone, that core foundational 'family'

and we don't really have further additional characters that are bonded

The show is over bloated with too many characters and no 'intimate' connection.
.
Think back to the season of shows that took place after they had to leave the Prison - Terminus and then after Terminus - Alexandria. We really go to connect with the characters and see a family form. We got little background stories on most of them. And that kind of stuff I think really made me love these characters.

.

Prior to Alexandria we also saw homes/house, neighborhoods after the result of the Turn, and gave us a glimps into lives of people we would never know. It gave a sense of mystery and horror at the same time. We don't get that anymore either.
