JUSTICE LEAGUE

I know most people on here haven't seen it yet so I'll keep my review brief and spoiler free until more of you have had the chance to check it out but in my opinion, for what it's worth, I think it's the best super hero movie of the year. Even better than Wonder Woman. Ben Affleck continues to impress as Batman, Gal Gadot IS Wonder Woman and Henry Cavill gives me my favourite Superman performance from him yet. The three new guys, Cyborg, The Flash and Aquaman are better than I expected. The Flash has some funny scenes I suspect others will enjoy more than I did and Aquaman is fantastic, even though he looks like Roman Reigns (although, that's not really a bad thing).
The only letdown for me is the villain. DC has so many great villains and I've yet to be impressed by any of them so far in the DCEU. Maybe next time?

Overall though, I really enjoyed it and look forward to seeing where they go from here.

That's interesting, thanks for the heads-up. From the trailers, I thought it looked shit-awful (to the extent where I wasn't going to bother going to see it), so glad to hear your review.

Of course, this is just my opinion. You may think otherwise when you see it. I will say that I don't think the trailers did it justice (no pun intended) though. Having said that, don't go in expecting a story to rival The Godfather or anything. It's not that kind of movie but at least it knows it.

Oh, I forgot to mention, make sure you stick around til after the credits. There is a mid credit scene AND a post credits scene. Both of which are worth seeing.

Thanks for that thumbs up! just watched it today and there is also a brief Prince and David Bowie reference as well. I have to say that it was alot better than Man of Steel, Batman vs Superman and Suicide Squad. However, Wonder Woman is still the jewel in the crown of the DC francise so far, because the JL plot and the editing seemed really disjointed at times where I felt I was watching 4 different films!, which was a shame because they have the right people for those roles (especially Jason Moma as Aquaman and Ezra Miller as Flash). I will give it a 3.5 out 5 popcorn its ok.......just it isn't nearly as much fun as The Avengers was.

Dawn of Justice was far from perfect but it had its moments. Most of them involved Batman but it's still better than the disaster a lot of people claim it to be. And Wonder Woman was great until the end.

I hate when they do this. Those damn ushers always act so annoyed when I stay in my seat during the credits. DCEU has not yet earned a cinema pass from me however, so this will be a rental.

If you've paid your money for a ticket to a movie then you've also paid for the right to sit through the credits if that is what you wish to do. Tell the ushers to suck a lemon if they're not happy with you staying in your seat.

It was kinda cool at first when Marvel did it but now it's getting on my nerves. Spiderman homecoming was lame with Captain America giving his public service address about being patient or something close to that. Thor Ranganok looked like a deleted scene if anything.

Isn't it fucking retarded that a CYBORG created in the 21st century would look like a character out of a 1950's dime novel? It's like JESSE THE BODY VENTURA in THE RUNNING MAN

....absolutely dumb oversight. I'm sure aqua man is there to pander to the gay and hipster audience. But what is Flash pandering to?

They need a writer/director with a vision and not just this corporate think tank Gartner they've been passing off. They're blatantly TRYING to be marvel. With none of the characterization. It's like some SUITS went and said :well it needs that cause marvel did it. It needs this cause marvel did it.

The Nolan batmam flicks were phenomenal. The super man flicks were pretty good too...Wonder Woman was great; PROBABLY cause it had no Marvel equivalent.

And when i say Marvel i don't mean those shitty FOX Xmen films. Only LOGAN was fantastic.

Iron Man

Incredible Hulk

Iron Man 2

Thor

Captain America

The Avengers

----

See what Marvel did there? They TOOK THEIR TIME....made five very good comic book movies, all could stand alone, all were connected to each other. Then they blew us all away with The Avengers. Now...they're making $300 million blockbusters out of friggin Ant-Man and the Guardians of the Galaxy, Dr Strange even! And the movies are all good!

----

What the fuck is going on at DC/WB? How could they screw this up so badly? It's almost embarassing, as a diehard DC fan...such a waste. disbelief I havent seen JL yet, but I have been extremely disappointed with everything they've done so far other than Wonder Woman (well, Man of Steel was pretty good) and from the trailers, critics and a few friends that have seen it, JL is another jumbled mess. Doesnt matter...I am so pissed with the way they have rolled out this "universe", JL could be awesome and I would still complain. They should have done something like this:

-

Wonder Woman

Batman

Aquaman

Batman 2

The Flash

Man of Steel

Batman v Superman

Justice League

----

At this point, I wish they would blow the whole thing up and start over. Hell, let the CW folks take the universe over. I prefer Supergirl, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Arrow to this fiasco of a franchise they've created. disbelief

Yeah. Well, the suits usually make those decisions to give something the go. And they usually know nothing. But I'm sure they're interfering with it all the way anyways.
I'm fearful like u.

I'm not a partisan either. There are so many ppl in the geek world who are EITHER marvel or EITHER DC.. and i think the bolder "tough guy geek model" is to be a hardliner DC guy in spite of the mostly shitty films.

Both HULK movies weren't fantastic but I'm not going to defend them on some phoney premise.

It's like being a lawyer for those partisan DC guys.... defending a small time hood or a capital murder case. Whoever makes the best argument.

Anyways. ..back to normal; i might sneak in one sitting if possible after watching something better.

If it's not horrible. Maybe it'll make a "date night"

Aquaman is definitely not there to pander to the hipsters or the gays. He's very much a "cool" character in the movie and Jason Momoa plays it really well. In fact, they all play their parts really well. The movie is cast to perfection. Even Henry Cavill, who I had serious reservations about in his previous appearances, turns in a really good performance as Superman. And as for how Cyborg looks, you should see the movie before criticising his appearance.

I know what you mean about how the dceu are trying to follow the Marvel template but in fairness, DC had their shared animated universe long before the MCU so an argument could be made that they're just following the template of their own animated series.

And the Nolan Batman movies weren't all that either. Batman Begins was good but the fight scenes were dreadful. It's impossible to see what's going on because there are so many cuts and close ups. The Dark Knight fared a bit better in that regard but the entire Two Face storyline felt way too rushed and because of that, the ending fell flat. And the Dark Knight Rises is just so boring and full of plot holes that it's barely worth talking about.

Interesting opinion on the Nolan films. Those were at least truly CINEMATIC. Not chopped together exec jobs. I'd have to watch the last one again to notice plot holes, i was kinda busy being entertained but at nearly 3 hours I'm not sure I'll have the time unless i schedule it into sitting with friends time.

As for cartoons!? Of course!

Cartoons have always had permanent flexibility and they could go ANYWHERE in the comics history. They didn't have to explain many things. It'd be like jumping into comic #135.

There were certain things EXPECTED of cartoon fans. They didn't start at page one (*i know that sounds stupid but u know what i mean, and for humor 's sake I'm leaving it)

You could have a hometown story one week and an intergalactic story next week with no issue.

I just read a review by some Matthew seitz on dead Ebert's site that also put this in a positive spin (while telling many issues/forced motives) so. ....maybe it's not all bad. I'm sure I'll sneak a peak somehow. Not certain i want the disappointment. Thanks for the info. I suppose that's what's important until someone breaks code and leaks a SPOILER.

Like: well....honestly. ....ur gonna where this movie goes without even seeing it. Some massive cgi "BIG BOSS" like a video game.

Cavill being resurrected? Nope. His name is on media. Prominently

Wish i could make up a fake spoiler but dc has unimaginative ranks. The closest they got to creativity beyond bat and soup was green lantern and that was partly played for laughs. (*if memory serves me right)

Is Mr Mitzlplykkt in it?
