Every team in the American League with a winning record made the playoffs this year. MLB is turning into the NBA.

Seeing as my beloved Jays didn't make the playoffs this year, I'm going with Cleveland all the way! I would love to see Edwin Encarnacion get a ring. We really miss him up in TO.

Here we go again....can the Dodgers get out of their own way and FINALLY bring the title back to LA? PLEASE!!!! I am 43 years old and was in the 9th grade the last time the Bums won it all. I'll make a prediction...if the Dodgers make it out of the first round, they're going to the WS. That first round will not be easy tho...the Dbacks and Rockies are the ONLY teams with a winning record against the Dodgers this year. Come on Bums....you can do it!!!! nod

Make it so, Number One...

I'm hoping my Cubbies go back and win the second of their 13 consecutive World Series titles. woot! headbang But if for some reason they..(gulp)...don't make it back to the World Series, I'm rooting for Cleveland to break their curse. As for my Cubbies, they may be peaking at the right time, but Washington is loaded with offense plus has Max Scherzer and Steven Strasburg in a short series and has home field advantage. Even if the Cubs get by the Nats, they most likely would face either an angry Dodgers squad which wants revenge from last year's playoffs or a fiesty Diamondbacks team that owned them during the regular season. Anyway, GO CUBS!!!

If any team's bullpen could pitch 8 2/3 innings of one-run ball to win a game, it would be New York.

Pitiful performance by the Yankees last night. It reminded me of when Cliff Lee shamed them in the 2010 playoffs. disbelief

I went to yesterday's Astros/Red Sox game. I think it was the most enjoyable game I've ever been to, and not just because we won. Everything was perfect!

Got to see it with my son; we saw Jose Altuve hit three dingers; the beer was cold; the crowd was loud; the Boston fans were polite; two really interesting replay challenges; everything was perfect.

Then we walked over to BBVA Compass Stadium and watched the Houston Dynamo play Cruz Azul in a friendly. What a Day O' Sports!

Astros looking good right now in Game 2, leading 4 - 1 as Keuchel exits for a reliever. Go 'Stros!

Great to hear! You really lucked out encountering polite Red Sox fans. lol But then the obnoxious ones (like most sports fans I suppose) mostly show their faces at home.

It's not looking good at all for both the Red Sox and Yankees.

Manager Joe Girardi rightfully admitted it was his fault the Yankees lost game 2 when we didn't challenge the hit by pitch call which in replays was clearly a foul tip and strikeout. I don't know why he didn't challenge the play. The Yankees' video guy has been the best in baseball at predicting which calls will get overturned in favor of the Yankees.

Playing Cleveland seems to give Yankees managers brain cramps reminding me of when Joe Torre said he regretted not pulling his team off the field in the 2007 playoffs when an attack of midges was annoying pitcher Joba Chamberlain to such a degree that he couldn't get anyone out. Coincidentally, the Yankees also lost that ALDS game 2 in extra innings. confused

Boston and New York face elimination tonight going with a pair of pitchers whose ERAs this year are close to 5.00. confused

I can't believe that Frank Thomas, Keith Hernandez and Steroid Boy Alex Rodriguez are all harping on how great Doug Fister is and how he's going to shut down the Astros because he has a change-up.

Uhhhh....Doug Fister was an Astro last year. He started 32 games for us, going 12 - 13. I think we know what kind of stuff he has.

Just another part of the Anti-Houston Conspiracy, which has existed in all sports since the beginning of sports.

Correa just jacked a 2-run homer in the first inning and now it's 3-0 Astros with only one out. Boy, those guys on FS1 sure knew their baseball! I guess it was just that someone forgot to tell them that Doug Fister had the highest ERA in the majors this year for the first two innings.

Fister has recorded exactly one out in this game, and the Boston bullpen already has someone up and throwing.
