Vikings destroyed the Rams...Minnesota clearly has the best defense in the NFL ...and Case Keenum looking like Fran Tarkenton Jr...

True, but they mean something to the networks.

Rams lost, KC lost. What are the Vikings eating? As per usual Patriots blow out a once good team. In Mexico! Brady could win in hell.

Brady wins because of his line. A strong line is key.

Shitlessburger as well. Bengals squeeked by.

Saints are getting better.

Jags are impressing.

Browns are actual dogs.

Giants winning made me sick.

All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

Articles from the Washington Post and ESPN cover both sides of this debate, but apparently, the NFL, whose ratings are declining, want to appeal to those gamers. Not everyone however is buying it.

How do they determine ratings???????? How do you count 400 people at a bar watching the game??? NFL is never going to get cancelled due to ratings. Besides why do they think gamers don't watch football??? not buying it.

don't shoot the messenger . . . lol

The NFL's motives for doing it are easy -- they want more eyeballs, a lot of whom are in the highly coveted 18-35 demographic. Regardless of the reasons for the NFL ratings slip (down somewhere between 6%-8% from 2016-2017), they (and their broadcast partners) want to make up lost ground and they think they can do it by appealing to the Madden crowd, many of whom may spend more hours playing the video game than watching real ones.

the WaPo article made it clear that the latest experiment last Sunday was met with decidedly mixed results. Being a Madden player off and on since the arcade days, this won't convince me it's better than the standard angle.

Not blaming you. But millions of non-gamers will also hate that sky cam shot. Honestly the reason behind this was the Patriots game a few weeks ago was foggy so they had to shoot it that way. More than likely the crew who shot it are morons who thought it looked cool so said "hey let's shoot games from this point of view". It's ok for a few plays but nothing more than that. If I saw these guys walking down the street I would kick them right squared in the balls. For the ratings the system is flawed, for all we know ratings are actually up.

Doesn't matter. Gronk is gonna eat that shitty secondary alive. Green Bay's receivers feasted on Pittsburgh secondary tonight. Pittsburgh would have to win a shootout. That's the only slim chance they have. Artie Burns will be nothing more than an average CB at best and S Mike Mitchell sucks major ass. Haden is solid at corner and Davis at the other safety spot. Burns and Mitchell makes way too many mistakes on the backend.
