Def Comedy Jam 25 premiers Sep 26 Netflix

Russell Simmons’s Def Comedy Jam will celebrate it’s 25th anniversary on Netflix (why the hell didn’t HBO pick this up?) And mostly all of the big names who appeared on the series are here, for one night only September 26.

Def Jam was huge when it premiered in the Spring of 1992 with Martin Lawrence as the host. Such big names in comedy like the late Bernie Mac, Chris Tucker, Dave Chappelle, Steve Harvey, Eddie Griffin, DL Hughley, JB Smoove, Cedric the Entertainer, Faizon Love, Lavelle Crawford, Tracy Morgan, Bill Bellamy, Joe Torry, Craig Robinson, Mike Epps, Earthquake, Aries Spears, Mark Curry, Jamie Foxx, Chris Rock, ect made their television debuts on Def Comedy Jam.

And even the later reboot of Def Jam in the mid 2000s’ put on the likes of Kevin Hart, Katt Williams, Deon Cole, Damon Wayans Jr. , Deray Davis and Tiffany Haddish before they were widely known.
This should be good!!!

I've got all the original series on DVD. I watch it at least once a year. Bernie Mac was an absolute comic genius.

The whole series has never been released. A lot of episodes never made it to those DVDs and VHSs.

Ok then, well I have everything that's been released officially as well as some stuff that was never released. It's amazing what you can find on the internet.

Right on.
The series just started streaming online also. For the first time since it went of the air in 1997.

Usually, on New Years Eve, HBO would do a marathon of Def Comedy Jam episodes and I would set my VCR to tape it all night long.

I still have that VHS tape around somewhere, extra grainy I'm sure!

Bernie Mac was so good that Prince used him in his music!

I look forward to the return of that show, I'm checkin' the web now! excited
