Fleetwood Mac/Drug Commercial Pop Songs

I've seen Gwyneth Paltrow's mom in drug commercials on tv, a person on a drug walking across a cartoon bridge holding the hand of a giant pill in a drug commercial, and now Fleetwood Mac's "Go Your Own Way" was in a drug commercial I saw this evening. I dig the Mac but it's sorta ironic and fucked up isn't it? Fleetwood Mac music selling pills during the news.
.
Why do u think are there so many drug commercials on tv that are for super specific audiences? This is a relatively recent development. There are even lawsuit for pill commercials that run on the other over the air networks alongside them. I don't have any prescriptions and I can't say I know of anyone else's prescriptions but has a TV commercial pitch ever inspired u or someone u know to change their regimen in a positive way? I'm always telling folks to not take so many prescriptions even my grandmother is on one of those mood pills these days. My mother told me and I was surprised but not as some doctors are sorta the new pushers. I try to pressure her to keep asking if and when to stop or lower the doses. People are doing the most with legal shit it seems.

Totally fucked! I hate that commercial...and all the other ones using some of my favorite songs from way back when. I understand that old bands need to make money but not off the corprorate pill pushers. Pisses me the fuck off! Especially the ones that have a cartoon character accompanying the patient in the advert... Do med-cos really think that older people are that ignorant, demented, or juvenile?!!! Puh---leaaaaaaaaaaaase! rolleyes mad

It's hilariously distasteful to use the music of addicts to sell drugs to the masses like they are new candies. Idk if all of the Mac consent to this or it was a licensing thing or what but I was sorta shocked, considering their struggles with prescription stuff amongst other temptations.

The side effects sound worse than the conditions the meds are supposed to treat! razz
