I happened to see an episode of this a bit ago, and I thought it seemed pretty good. Funny, I immediately thought that it reminded me of a supernatural soap opera in the same vein as True Blood... Then I googled it and saw it was based on books by Charlaine Harris lol

If you will, so will I

Didn't realize the Vampire on Midnight Texas was also a Vampire on True Blood

i used the long weekend to finally work my way through season 3 of fargo. i think they almost matched the first season in capturing the spirit & feel of the movie (i liked the 2nd season, but i did feel it lost a bit of that magic). my only real complaint would be the presence of skeptical jerky new chief of police, a really rote character who really added nothing, a cliched aberration in an otherwise unique, fresh show. 4.5/5.

Have you seen the first season of the X-Men TV show, Legion? It's by the creator of Fargo and has Aubrey Plaza in a supporting role. It's by far the quirkiest superhero TV series I've ever seen and much better than any of the X-Men movies.

i haven't watched it, though i have heard quite a few positive things about it. i just haven't followed any series for a long time, fargo & black mirror excluded - but i am probably going to look for a few shows to dive into during the winter months, and i'll definitely give it a chance now that you've given it your stamp of approval.

i was planning on leaving twin peaks until this winter as well, but i've been intrigued by all the chatter i've been seeing on twitter & elsewhere, so i think i'm going to start that this weekend.

Great show, although the plot about the mosnter/ alien doesn't do it for me, not just yet. But is early to say, is just the first season, let's wait 'till the second one.

I was saying the other day, that while I really liked season 1, I'm gonna need more back story or something about the "monster(s)", etc in the next season because so far, the explanation feels a bit cheap

If you will, so will I

Indeed, quite cheap.

i just wrapped up episode 8 of twin peaks. i think it's been an absolutely demented hoot so far, almost everything i hoped for, and i absolutely love it. i'd say it's definitely more inland empire-lynch than original tp-lynch, but i like, even prefer lynch in that style, so that's no problem. there have been a few moments that just didn't work for me - particulary michael cera's brando impersonation - but those have been few and far between. episode 8 in particular felt like an absolute leap into the unknown. it all may just be one big 'fuck you' from lynch, but i think t's the most exciting, thrilling 'fuck you' i've watched in a good length of time.

I'm at episode 17 of season 2... And yes, often I don't know WTF I'm watching (it does not get "better") but this should be about 9/10 for me in the end. Also, if someone spoils this for me in anyway... lol

When I'm telling people now about it, I often mentioned that scene in the coffee bar, the jazz song is playing and you're totally used to such music being used for the viewer to create a certain mood. Then one of the characters suddenly says "uh, I like that song" and starts to dance. WTF. lol

Not EvilAngel, but I just finished the first season, too. It is about a Chicago financial planner (Jason Bateman - really good performance) and his partner who launder money for a drug lord. Things go awry there, so Bateman moves himself and his family to Missouri to start a new business venture, and avoid the messiness in Chicago. Tension, crime, and drama ensue. I wanted to like it so much more than I actually did.

Season's 1 & 2 of Outlander. They've done an awesome job with this show. The books are fanastic too. And, I must say, there is no one hotter on tv at the moment than Sam Heughan who plays Jamie Fraser. love

The Crown, Downton Abbey, El Tiempo Entre Costuras, 3% and La Doña all those series are on Netflix and they are very good. Love them wholeheartedly.

i watched the four short adaptations of neil gaiman's 'likely stories' earlier this week (on shudder for anyone who subscribes to that service), and i liked it a fair bit, especially 'feeders & eaters.' i think all episodes really benefit from avoiding huge shock endings or fantastical twists. instead, they just seem to drift away, leaving the stories to linger with you.

I just realized I spent the entire weekend watching Doc Martin. I did go to the Old Globe, for the first time I'm ashamed to say but it won't be the last gotta see Benny and Joon, and saw Hamlet, which I loved, a black guy played Hamlet, that was different. But my TV watching was limited to just watching the Doc Martin this whole weekend. I like the show. I think I needed a break from cities being blown up, grotesque deaths and excessive drama, I just need "regular" people just doing "regular" stuff that wasn't earth shattering. And I love the scenery of the show, I'm jealous I want to live there by the ocean.

White Gold (2017) which is on Netflix at the moment, set in 1983 its about these 3 salesmen in Essex who run a double window glazing scam. Its wickedly funny, raunchy and its the best thing Ed Westwick has done since Gossip Girl. I give it a 4.5 out of 5 popcorn

Actually, I don't really feel ready or even qualified to give this a rating, but if only for the feeling THAT LAST SCENE leaves you with: 10/10.

These 18 episodes have been so incredibly great - by far the most intelligent (and challenging) show on TV! What a ride!

I rate 7/10. There are some unintentionally funny moments. Like the fat woman in charge of the kitchen, with a strong american accent. Also, seeing multiple women running around in burkas, shouting about allah, is stupidly funny.

i finished twin peaks recently as well. all the way through the last 10 episodes, i hoped that we might get more of that episode 8 psychedelic leap into the unknown trippiness, but it was probably best left off the table, if only in the 'less is more' sense. that aside, i'd give it a 10 too, without hesitation, based on boldness & what i thought was an almost complete lack of compromise right through to the final moment.
