This would have been a great thread for back when I had time and space to consume films like I love to do.

But since I can find so many films that were once incredibly difficult to find... (sometimes having to purchase other regions) it's not such an issue.

But here's a good one: (not a great film by the way... in terms of story telling...but quite possibly THE greatest film ever...depending on one's opinion)

Paradise (1982) (Phoebe Cates) - for obvious reasons lol

Prince - Sign O THe TImes (proper DVD, remaster/upsourced video codec)

Prince - 3 Chains o Gold (I have this on VHS)

I only buy or rent stuff that's HD for the past 8 years (so if it's a disc, it's blu-ray), unless it's a TV show that only exists as DVD (or some rare cult movie).

SOTT is on DVD and blu-ray but just not in the U.S. The Japanese box set blu-ray is amazing.

But discs are dying, except now there's 4K discs.... eek

And my fave movie is about to hit the market on 4K blu-ray. I need to get a 4K disc player, and 4K OLED TV...

But I want 1980's "Resurrection" starring Ellen Burstyn on blu-ray.

I find it annoying that I have to order some dvds/blu-rays from overseas because they are not available here in Australia sad eg. Guys & Dolls (1955) and Damn Yankees (1958).

GREAT ONE!

you know this might sound stupid. ...but I've got the original posters from this film and i still haven't seen it. I got on a Natalie wood/Gene Tierney kick sometime back.

I can't even find it through the rare film channels i usually have. Might have to request this one at the Egyptian come to think of it

A few years ago, our local arthouse cinema was showing a special series of French new wave films, and I happened to see Celine and Julie Go Boating.. I had never heard of it before, but LOVED it and thought about it for days after seeing (its quite long and quite weird).

I tried to find it on DVD then, but could find no copies online formatted for the USA. Maybe I'll start searching again. I need to watch this again.

If you will, so will I

Having just seen THE KILLERS (1946) in 35 mm last night, I'm AWESTRUCK by the director's work (ROBERT SIODMAK)...and have found out that much of his work remains unreleased on "home formats"/dvd/bluray

5/5: Excellent cast, incredible production/staging, pacing (akin to CITIZEN KANE; fillm done in flashback: review pending an insurance case), dialogue, lighting (Ava Gardner looks wickedly hot in this one as the seductress), music, and Burt Lancaster's performance... what a great f-ing noir film.

Makes Double Indemnity look like the schlock it is (far better noir films without the phoniness)... I'd rate this one right up there with the early Kubrick: THE KILLING.

absolutely great stuff.

I've been trying to chase down Gina Lollobrigida films the past year and have noticed that Siodmak's remake of "Le Grand Jeu"/Flesh and the Woman is near impossible to find for me as well.

Quite fond of Gina's films. Particularly "LA DONNA PIU BELLA DEL MONDO" and although i HAVE IT.... I'd forgotten that it's a bootleg and from a European source. (of which THAT is even hard to find).

IT's a shame, she really posits an extraordinary talent for vitality, beauty, spirit, song, humor, action...etc that few starlets ever possessed.

Just stay away from "THE LONELY WIFE" that thing is a turd. Probably the reason she stopped acting.

Thanks. Sounds interesting. Can't seem to find it yet. Just a medieval film by the same director :-/

Honestly haven't listened to my Prince collection in years. They're in stacks of zipper box cases...out of reach since my unfortunate move
