Image result for steelers vs giants preseason

OK pre-season win is always great. After that game it's pretty obvious Watt will be a starter. Moats was a beast. Hilton was a good play maker. Boswell on target. Hamilton deserves to be there. Davis looked good, made yards out of nothing. Dobbs shakey and still needs time to develop. Ok in a crowded rosters of WR I would keep Brown, Bryant, Bey, Hamilton, Rogers, and Ju-Ju Smith. Now if we had to cut to make room (not saying these guys aren't good) I would pick Ayers, Hunter, Coates, Severin, and Tucker.

Any predictions? I'll take several flyers leading to a predictable conclusion.

AFC

Division winners:
Pats (East), Raiders (West), Steelers (North). Titans (South)

Wild Cards: Texans, Chiefs, Colts

Conference: Pats d. Steelers (only because the Raiders lack playoff experience)

NFC

Division winners:
Cowboys (East), Seattle (West), Packers (North), Falcons (South)

Wild Cards: Giants, Panthers, Cards

Conference: Packers d. Seattle

Super Bowl: Pats d. Packers

Sounds about right, but you say Seattle d. Packers but you got the Packers in the Super Bowl. Steelers could get into the Super Bowl if they don't play the Patriots in the playoffs. Talent is there on the Steelers but coaching has been bad against the Patriots.

Though I don't see 3 teams of the AFC South making it to the playoffs. Think Chargers/Ravens/Bengals have a better chance at Wild card spot than 2 AFC south teams, but we will see.

Yeah, I changed my mind on Seattle v. Pack but didn't update the conference prediction.

IIRC, the last time the Steelers made it to the Super Bowl they avoided the Pats as well.

Barring an unlikely run by Miami, the Pats' division is so weak I can't see them not getting HFA throughout the playoffs.

As I see it, the Steelers haven't matched up well defensively against the Pats, and the availability of their offensive weapons due to injury or suspension is always a wild card. The knives are out for Mike Tomlin.

You're probably right, because the Colts' roster is a mess. But as I see it:

- AFC North: The Ravens will rise or fall on Flacco's health, which is why I didn't put them in. The Bengals always find a way to lose when it counts, and I think they may blow a couple of games they should win.

- AFC West: The Broncos are unsettled at QB, and the Chargers, who've been in football purgatory forever, won't be helped by the relocation to LA (but hey, it worked wonders for the Titans in their first season in Nashville, so . . .) The Chiefs will beat out both teams for the WC spot.

- AFC East: It's just an awful division. The Pats will dominatge, and the Fins are the only other team in the division with a prayer at making it about .500

What I do notice though is that the Patriots usually finishes with a record of 13-3 or 14-2. Their loses are mostly come from the Bills/Jets/Dolphins

What's with all the Packers love? lol

Unless they supersize their defense I don't see them getting to the NFC championship.

I think the Panthers defense will be better than the Packers as well as the Falcons and

Seahawks. Watch out for Tampa too. I think the Panthers defense will be lethal this season. The Packers are the Patriots of the NFC North. They are talented but damn just like the Pats feast off the AFC East almost assuring them of homefield the Packers get to feast off the Bears who's been

in hibernation for years and hard luck ass Detroit. They've already lost 2 defemsive starters for the year which doesn't bode well for them playing the Packers. Minnesota is the only team in the division that can potentially push the Packers a bit.

In the AFC despite NE adding pieces to an already good team, they don't scare me.

You have to do what the Ravens have done to them in the past postseasons punch them in

the fucking mouth. It's that simple. The Steelers have the offense to compete with the Pats and

I believe the defense will only get better but the AFC North is the main focus. The Steelers will cross that Pats bridge when the time comes.

Don't laugh at my funk

The Pack, like the Pats, play in a pretty weak division. They should win that division and get a first-round bye. Despite their obvious defensive holes, they're able to win on the road in the playoffs.

I think the Panthers defense will be better than the Packers as well as the Falcons and Seahawks. Watch out for Tampa too. I think the Panthers defense will be lethal this season.

The NFC South could be the best division in football. Good QB play, good defenses. But they beat each other up and play musical chairs with the division. CAR's issue isn't defense, it's their efficiency on offense.

. . . And the Pats have won 2 SBs in the last 4 years. Which is why the Pack are projected as a SB contender.

The Pats basically have a standing invitation to the conference title game every year. They've had the Stihluhs' number in January. PIT hasn't crossed that Pats bridge in a while, but you're right, they're in as good a position as anyone to take the AFC from them.

If the Steelers or Raiders can't get a consistent pass rush up the middle, they're not beating the Pats at winnin' time. As we saw in the Super Bowl, you have to play FOUR quarters of football to defeat Belichick & Co. Hopefully, Pittsburgh won't play zone defense this time. biggrin

Marvin Lewis is one lucky coach, if he was a head coach of any other team he would have been fired by now.

OK the good and the bad

The bad - Dobbs still needs alot of work if he is gonna replace Ben one day. I still think Pittsburgh should draft another QB in the draft next year. Bart Houston looked ok. Defense needs to do better on defending the pass. Matt Ryan was throwing that ball up and down the field.

The good - RB James Conner lit things up rushing for 98 yards. Trey Williams TD on special teams got the coaches attention. Chickillo sacks. Dangerfields interception. Hilton almost getting a safety
