The Book of Leviticus has God saying "Do not cut yourselves for the dead, nor put tattoo marks on your skin. I am the LORD." Not many people know this, but tattooing has been around since Biblical times. I imagine getting a tattoo back then took a longer time and was much more painful. A needle filled with ink would be poked in over and over, slowly. I'm glad to see tattoo removal businesses springing up. I really, really do not llike to look at tattoos on people. The artwork is always tacky: snakes, skulls, angels, some stupid poetry. I know someone who got his own name tattooed on his forearm. Was he going to forget his own name? He's a drug dealer, maybe he just wanted to speed things up when the cops come to arrest him. Super fat people seem to be getting tattoos now, I just wonder why. You wouldn't paint a moustache on the Mona Lisa, it would be disrespectful to Leonardo de Vinci, so why do people deface their beautiful clear skin that the Master Artist gave them when they were born? Anyway, maybe the craze to get tattoos will turn into a craze to get tattoos removed. I hope so, I'm sure tired of seeing them.
