Spider-Man: Homecoming (possible spoilers)

I put the spoiler warning in the thread title in case anyone wants to discuss the movie in detail. So if you haven't seen it yet, beware.

I seen the movie last night and I must say, it's really really good. Tom Holland is very good in the role, a million times better than Andrew Garfield, and Michael Keaton's Vulture joins Red Skull and Loki as the MCU's best big screen villains. I'll try to stay as spoiler free as I can but I will say that it was a relief to me that Robert Downey Jr doesn't have as big a part as I thought he would. I like Iron Man but I'll glad the movie focuses on Spider-Man. I won't go into much more detail yet but overall, I liked the movie but not as much as the first two Tobey Maguire movies.

A solid 4 out of 5.

And luckily, you'll never have to because this is a complete reboot for the character.

I didn't like the last Apes movie. I didn't dislike it either. It was just kind of meh. The new one looks pretty good though. I generally go to the cinema at least once a week so I'm sure I'll fit in the Apes at some stage.

I feel the same way about the last Apes movie, it is my least favorite movie of ALL the ape movies (the orginal 5, tv show, mark walbergs one) but will watch War, can't be any worse than the previous film...........I hope faint

He's supposed to be a kid. He's 15. I probably prefer the first two Tobey Maguire movies too but Homecoming is really good. And the fact that he's just a kid is a major part of the movie. He's not like Iron Man or Captain America. He's immature and doesn't always know how to handle bad situations when they arise. As for it looking like a comedy, all I can say is that it's a Marvel movie. It's got its comedic moments but it's no more a comedy that the Iron Man movies are. Besides all that, Michael Keaton is in it and that should be reason enough to see it smile

This is probably the most mature of the Spider Man films. The villain and his motives do not insult your intelligence as much as most comic book movies do. Sure it's all "out there" but the villains in most comic book movies are pretty juvenile and ruin most comic book movies. That goes for most action and James Bond movies too.

Since there's already a spoiler warning, somebody spill the beans and tell us what happens in the end credits scene. nod

Ok but first;

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!

There are two extra scenes, one during the credits and another after. The mid credits scene shows Michael Keaton's character in jail talking to who I assume is The Scorpion who tells him he has friends on the outside (Sinister Six?) who want Spider-Man dead and ask if Michael Keaton knows who Spider-Man is. Although he does know, he says he doesn't, then they part ways.
In the actual post credits scene Captain America appears and talks directly to the audience about the importance of patience but that sometimes patience is not rewarded. Then that's it. It ends. You've sat through 15 minutes of scrolling names only for Captain America to mock you for it.

Thanks for that.

Spider-Man has never interested me and, in fact, while I'm definitely a Marvel fan, I've never seen any movies in this character's franchise. The buzz around this latest flick is interesting me, though. I may have to check it out.
