Knicks fans are now reduced to getting excited about firings and exits. They deserve better.

He probably feels LeBron is leaving after next season, so he's planning his exit now. But Kyrie's under contract for two more years, so the Cavs don't have to do anything.

Kyrie is trying to tick LBJ off so bad they can't help but trade him. CLE's got to look at this season as their last chance in years, perhaps a decade or more, to contend for a title. Kyrie is making it so that they can't play together so he can get out and start over.

His rationale is the same as Kobe's was when Shaq was traded, though Kobe had far more leverage. Unlike Kobe, he doesn't want to stay where he is and be The Man. He wants to go somewhere where he could contend instantly. But he may wind up somewhere like New York.

You're right. As I recall, there has not been a star that has played with LBJ that has had a better career after leaving/being left by LBJ.

Yet, I still find some sympathy for Irving wanting to strike out on his own.

I think about Kobe, I think about Jordan. I do not think about Jordan when I think about Kyrie.

I do believe in team chemistry but I get where you coming from.

The most overused cliche I don't buy into is Player A makes others around him better.

Yeah, I typically don't buy into sports truths that cannot be quantified. And, because there is no
way to quantify "team chemistry" in and of itself, I usually just ignore phrases like that. There are
tons of teams that win championships all the time with players who are not very close with each

Westbrook is a perfect example. With Durant, he went to an NBA final and could have gone to another had they taken care of business against Golden State. What did Westbrook do in this year's playoffs? I guess Kyrie wants to go to a team like his Cavs were before LeBron came back, where he'd have the freedom to jack up bad shots and play no defense. The Knicks would tolerate that, but not the Spurs. Popp will shut that down real quick.
