Hey TD3 - time for one of your Linux-y threads

...and this time, I want U to research and write up a report on Android voice calling programs - FREE ones! And VIDEO chatting ones, too! ....so that we can all now FIN-fucking-ally get to SEE and HEAR one another, like I've been saying for a while now.....

Get on it! smile

..OK, yall are STILL refusing to reply... -but anyway, today, I had occasion to try out appear.in on a mobile phone, and I'm pleased to say - IT WORKS!! smile At least on a new-type of phone! That means NO APPS TO DOWNLOAD - no Skype, no Facebook <whatever>, no Google Duo, blah blah blah... just go to appear.in/yourchatroomname and so does your friend, and - BANG!! You can videoconf!! smile ABSOLUTELY FUCKING AWESOME!!

...and for those with old browsers - maybe you should try updating them if it doesn't work..? (but really don't know too much about that stuff....)

Hey hey dom' biggrin

Will I received my code to purchase my ARM Pineboard Linux laptop last week. I choose the 14' laptop for $99.00, $31.00 dollars shipping. I'll start my video show with an unboxing and review when it arrives.

This board isn't ready for "prime time" just yet. The folks at Pine said, "Unless you are a developer and/or tinker... they wouldn't recommend this laptop for an everyday user. " At least not yet... I'm guessing, Prineboard laptop 2 -after they get the kinks out- will be able to used as an everday driver/laptop.

Cool to see you've ditched Intel - but did you read my post? Where are the Android voice calling app reviews? smile

Nope, I haven't ditched Intel at all... you have to take the specs that are given. Chuwi for $329.00, they could at least use a AMD processor. Celetron processor is so 1990's. I don't use Android, never have and never will. Why

1. Security updates too far in between.

2. Security lapses, bugs, and not a very secure platform

Linux closed source software, what a contradiction is terms.

What are your thoughts WannaCry worm/RansonWare? Has the worm had any impact in India's computer systems?

Apparently yeah, from what I've been reading. Not ME of course, cause that's a WINDOZE thing smile

Really, you think THIS would be the moment that everyone else here makes the shift to Linux - EXHORT THEM, TD! EXHORT THEM AS IF YOUR LIFE DEPENDED ON IT!
