People should try behaving more like the characters on Murphy Brown and Designing Women and less like How I Met Your Mother and MST3K. #MaketheWorldaBetterPlace

You were just a baby when those shows were on, plus maybe they never aired in Ireland

Don't get me wrong, I'm a Trek fan ... but quantity doesn't necessarily mean quality.

Star Trek maybe the most influential show in TV history

Exactly. What's the point of quality beyond it's ability to inspire?

No one will ever top the original Spock. Or Star Trek, for that matter. The best series afterward always paid homage to the original. Although, I admit liking the rebooted Star Trek movie just because it had Leonard Nimoy in it. I also think he was really pleased to know that his legacy would continue long after he passed...

No, I get that Kpowers, and I agree with you. I only liked it because that was Leonard Nimoy's last performance as Spock, so please forgive me. lol

I wonder if that means there's no more Tuvok. I assume he had to be a kid so he'd of been there.

I thought somebody would challenge with Doctor Who. Might as well throw 60 minutes in here somewhere.

Doctor...Who?!! How can you challenge a character that has been changing since I was a little kid or before. Which incarnation do you prefer? Would you like to see Dr. Who as a woman?

There are Mini-Series... then there are TV series.

I'd say Brideshead Revisited would be defined as a mini-series. No? Notwithstanding.

The adaptation of Evelyn Waugh novel was excellent, but was Brideshead the best in TV history? I don't think so. "Upstairs Downstairs, I Caligula and "The Jewel in The Crown" were brilliant. (IMHO) Downton Abbey was horrible...

I think you mean "I, Claudius" with Derek Jacobi. Excellent show.

I gave T'Pol a fighting chance because she's pre-Kirk, therefore pre-Abrahms so she could have possibly been working somewhere else in the quadrant. But all the others are post-Kirk and I'm not sure how old they are but I'm assuming they would have been very young if they were even born yet in the alternative uni. So yep, he just wiped them all out of the ST-verse in one fatal swoop.

Knowing Abrams he probably wrote it that T'pol went back to Vulcan to retire, then he blew up Vulcan pissed I forget, did Sarek die to in the movie??

I think Sarek died on TNG, when Spock was secretly on Romulus.

But you're probably right, Abrahms dragged everybody back to Vulcan then blew it up.

Well I knew he died on TNG. But Abrhams fake movie takes place before that. I remember winona ryder playing Spocks mom dying on Vulcan when it exploded but not sure about Sarek in this fake time line

Oh yeah, I got mixed up. But yeah Spock's father survived in the Abrahms world, he even admitted loving Spock's mother, which was a big deal.

wave I loved Fawlty Towers. Next to the juvenile humor of Benny Hill, John Cleese in Fawlty Towers had me rolling on the floor. lol
