I've never read any of his work but I'm a big fan of a lot of movies and TV shows that have come from it. His characters are iconic and with the exception of Batman and Superman, he's created my favourite superheroes.

What a character! The man is 96 years old and has never stopped working. He just published a graphic novel last year. Stan Lee by this time almost seems as immortal as his comic book characters. Here's to you, Stan! Image result for cheers emoticon

I always liked his narration on the 80's cartoon Spider Man and his Amazings friends. Liked his voice when he said "Hey Spidey fans"

peedub i'm sure others had a hand in the creation of Marvel's series and yet i still value Stan Lee's contribution to them all. jack kirby, rob liefeld are cool no doubt, but Stan is The Man!

http://screenrant.com/marvel-movies-stan-lee-cameo/?view=all

Stan Lee is probably the biggest name in comics. The genius co-creator behind the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, the Hulk, Thor and the X-Men (to name but a few), Stan Lee is synonymous with Marvel, comics and all things superhero. His work has made him a household name – an impressive feat for a comic book creator – and he’s even hosted his own TV series: Stan Lee’s Superhumans.

He’s also part of a Marvel cinematic tradition that stretches back to the 1980s. Lee has had a cameo in almost every live-action Marvel property movie, regardless of which studio is producing the film. Fans love to see the man himself pop up in the films, and there is even a pretty out-there fan theory that postulates that every one of his cameo characters are connected to one another. This week, he spoke to EW about his appearances, jokingly claiming that they are the reason for the success of so many Marvel films in recent years. With dozens of cameos already under his belt, and more on the way (including Deadpool 2, where he hopes to spend a little more time in an adult entertainment venue), Stan Lee is the ultimate Easter Egg of the Marvel universe.

My two favourite superheroes are both DC (Batman and Superman) but the majority of the ones I like are Marvel. Marvel also have more good movies than DC. Then again, they also have more bad ones... But the worst Marvel movie isn't as bad as the worst DC movie. Then again, the best Marvel movie isn't as good as the best DC movie. So I'd say that they're about even, in my opinion.

i understand your appreciation, but the fact is, stan lee is not the co-creator of any of the properties you have detailed above...

i don't know how familiar you are with the 'marvel method' of studio production of comics, but it is a largely collaborative effort; moreso now than in the early sixties when the foundation of the marvel universe was laid by jack kirby and steve ditko. when they were 'employed' by marvel, they presented their comics fully realised; that is plotted, written and drawn...the collaborative input was limited to inking, coloring, writing dialogue and captions (which stan lee was responsible for) and lettering. stan lee wrote the words for completed ideas. he created nothing but (poorly written, honestly) dialogue and captions...

his work may have made him a household name, but i would argue that his work has largely been focussed on making himself a household name. he is a master of marketing and a corporate shill. he is much reviled throughout the (much larger than marvel [or even superhero] comics) industry, often referred to as a gas bag and a blow hard.

i challenge anyone to name an enduring character that stan lee has created without the names jack kirby or steve ditko attached...here's one...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stripperella

DC is better in TV shows and in Cartoons/Animated series.
