Hey - I watched THREE movies last Sunday! And those are almost the only three movies I've seen this year, LOL.

Going to the movies 33 times in a year IS very impressive. But that's only a good month for a couple Orgers I could name, LOL.

Sadly, I've only seen 3 of the movies on truthhurts' list - Central Intelligence; London Has Fallen; and Deadpool.

Right, I don't think going to the movies 33 times in one year is all that crazy. That's less than a movie per week on average. And if you're single and going to matinees, it won't cost you that much either. That's what I do. lol

These are the 2016 North American releases I rated 4.5/5 or higher--my de facto top ten--all of which I saw at the cinema:

1. The Handmaiden
2. Moonlight
3. Manchester by the Sea
4. Toni Erdmann

5. Sing Street
6. A Bigger Splash
7. La La Land
8. Hell or High Water
9. April and the Extraordinary World

10. 13th

I initially ranked La La Land higher, but it's appeal has waned a bit the last few months.

I only buy tickets for the 21 and over balconies and order dinner from the menu at my luxury theater, so it's rather expensive for a permanent single person to go every week. I could go to the Regal downtown and see any new movie for $5.10 on discount Tuesdays, but their seats suck and I have knee problems due to my height. I need reclining seats.

One time, when I was a struggling musician, I got hired to lay down some grooves for a movie soundtrack. I was way excited, and played my fingers off in the studio. I asked the producer what movie my tunes were going to be in.

He said, "Didn't they tell you? This is the soundtrack for a porn movie". eek

Well, money is money so I said OK. The producer called me when the movie came out, and I went to the porn theater to see....errr, hear it. Of course, I was in disguise! I didn't want to be seen there.

So I went up to the balcony, and sat way in the back. There was no one else in that part of the porn theater except an old couple, and they too seemed to be wearing disguises.

The movie came on. Z. O. M. G. was it horrible! Every kind of sex act you can imagine, and right in the middle of it a dog came onscreen and nailed all the women and half the men! I was mortified!!!

I turned to the old couple and said, "Please don't judge me. I'm only here to hear the music I played for this movie".

"Don't worry," said the lady. "We're only here to see our dog!"

eek biggrin Not sure if serious

Every theater at my mall has a private balcony for 21 and overs. I saw Beauty and the Beast there a couple weeks ago and didn't have to listen to any kids or have them kick my seat. The floor seats that people with kids have to sit on really hurt your ass. Then there are the living room theaters (also 21 and over) that are absolutely gorgeous, but tickets are $18.50 and they sell out fast. The seats at the very front are like beds where you just lie down and watch the movie resting your head on a pillow. Also in driving distance are an Imax theater and a D-Box theater which I've yet to try. I'm thinking one of each for Star Wars 8.

^No, not serious. That's an old joke that I modified to make it look like it had happened to me.
