Better call Saul

Anyone watch this?

I think it's better than Breaking bad. Some people complain about the pace, but I think it's perfect.

It's a totally different monster than Breaking Bad, but they're still cousins. The pacing is really slow sometimes. But knowing Vince Gillian, there is a reason for things, and there will be a payoff. BB and BCS is about characters, not just the story and a random emotional moment. I have to be in the mode to watch it, so I had trouble with episode 1 this season. But I'm staying with it. I think Gus will inject a bit more familiarity into it.

I was watching Talking Saul last week and, apparently, fans figured out the first letter of last seasons episodes spelled out "FRINGS BACK". But this was even before production asked Giancarlo to be on the show.

But hell, some folks don't even realize Saul Goodman's name is a clever way of saying "S'all good, man."

I will watch old movies on AMC but I forget they feature scripted Dramas...I have not watched one Drama on AMC...The only thing I can tell you about Breaking Bad is that the lead was a Teacher...I did not jump on the Fan-Bus...

You gotta get past that, though. It's not about the fan-bus. Hell people are on the Kardashian fan-bus, doesn't mean that's any good.

I never watched BB it the whole time it was on. But when I heard the final season was coming up, I marathoned the show to catch up. (I actually did the same for Sex and the City, True Blood, and Oz).

The great thing about BB wasn't that it was just another show. It truly showed a relatively normal and mundane guy become desperate and do desperate things, in the guise of taking care of his family. He transformed from everyone's dad, to the biggest and most feared drug dealer in the area. It's called breaking bad for a reason - cuz he broke it 100x over. And he kept it from his family for a long time, and when they found out - they had no choice but to be his accomplice. It was truly a journey from light to dark. It's a show that really has incredible character development, easter eggs, and bookended seasons with incredible story arcs. There are things you see in a shot or scene that are never referenced again until the very end of the show. But you remember it - you think 'OMG that's why he did that!" It really makes the whole story & series encompassing. You are seeing the end to things before you realize it, and yet you're still in the beginning somewhere.

It just really is great storytelling. It was unlike anything I'd ever seen on television before, or since. Better Call Saul has the same sort of storytelling, but the whole setup and pacing are different. However, the great thing about BCS is that at some point this early aughts group of people are eventually going to collide with Walter White. But not just yet.

So, really - get past the fan-bus ideology, and give it a go. I really believe you will quickly be absorbed into it, and appreciate just how wonderful of a show they put out.

I get your point but there's nothing to remind me that AMC has Original Scripted shows...I watched AMC maybe 1 or 2 times last year when they Show The Jesus movies during X-mas...No other Network shows a marathon of Jesus flicks...I have not watched that Network since...

I mean, if that's an argument for missing a great show, because of a movie marathon, then.... okay.

RIGHT?!

AMC:
The Walking Dead

Badlands

The Son

Preacher

Fear The Walking Dead

Humans

Hap & Leonard

A&E:

Longmire (over now, but a very popular show)

Breaking Bad

Better Call Saul

Bates Motel

Damien

By the way, Better Call Saul is on A&E, not AMC. Maybe he's not seen Breaking Bad because he's on the wrong channel.

I decided not to watch Fargo, just because I can't get wrapped up in another show. But Silicon Valley is stellar. It has a great rating on things like Rotton Tomatoes, etc. Elon Musk said it was nothing like engineers and programmers he has encountered. Yet many silicon valley people said it's like a reflection of their lives, and even Bill Gates said he saw himself in a pitch meeting episode. TJ Miller responded to Musk in an interview and said "Don't tell me you guys don't have bike meetings. You fucking do! This is you!" hahaha

I don't know if SV is on any of the streaming services, but I'd dig into torrents or whatever and try to find them. The new season starts up next week, by the way.

Fargo is great! and each season is stand alone (the connections are not important).

another show I am very into is Wentworth!

and yeah i have some streaming sites i have used in the past but some seem to have security issues...

Okay brain fart. But now I wonder what I was thinking of. Hmmmm, anyhoo - they're worth a watch, despite one's objections to a station that played Jesus movies.

I would assume so. We have discussed a few things so far.

Honestly I get those 2 networks mixed up all the time. There's been a few times when I put on A&E waiting for the Walking Dead to come on only relalizing I have it on the wrong channel.

Calm down, bubba. A typo is vastly different than flat out hating something for no real reason. You tried, tho. Still love ya.
