Computer Security 2017

Here are some advice, tips you can use secure your computer. Is this, the end all to be all? Of course, but common sense and keeping your computer as secure as you possibly can, is a no brainier.

Eight Tips to Secure your computer...

The CIA appears to have compromise the top anti-virus providers, free or otherwise. One of the anti-virus software that didn't appaer on CIA list, PCMatic Another piece of software, Sandboxie. SB a powerful tool isolates and/or run programs before you download them; Sandboxie also sandboxes nefarious or potentially nefarious malware/virus attempting to infect your computer.

I can't state the importance of two-system verification: Yes, its time consuming and tedious but it you live on the computer, do your banking, and shopping on computers, two-system verification is a must. . Info how to use two-system varification.. here.

Unfortunately microphones can still pick up decent audio even if they've been covered with tape. Security experts say they are baffled that anyone would voluntarily buy sophisticated, microphone equipped devices that connect to the internet -- Amazon's (AMZN-Tech30) Alexa or Samsung's smart TV's, for example. If you have a smart TV uplugged from the wall when you aren't watching it. If that's too much of a hassel, connect a powerstrip and power down your TV.

Encrypt your entire hard disc and use cloud service that encrypt, end to end.... that would be SpiderQak ( which has two-system verification) S.Q. doesn't keep or store your password. Of course if you can't remember your password, you are screwed. You'll never ever never be able to access your data. I wouldn't use any Cloud service except there's... Spider Oak that is.

P.S. The company Cellebrite has just announced, they've cracked the Apple 6 iPhone. The same company that supposedly crack the Apple iPhone 5 for the FBI last summer. I'd suggest using a Apple ipod Touch, much safer. lol lol lol

Here are some suggestions to consider... Anti-Virus / Mallware Software.

It appears the CIA weren't successful in hacking Bitdefender. In fact the described the anti-virus software "mad"/"maddening". Bitdefender was my fo to anti-virus software of choice, when I had a PC.

Bitdefender is back on the list of anti-virus you can purchase. (You can use Paypal)

Dr.Web : Included are an anti-virus scanner, a firewall, a rootkit (corrupted system drivers) scanner, and mail and download guards. The anti-virus software has a quick scan mode which only scans the files most likely to be infected on your computer, saving considerable time---especially since the Dr. Web scanner is a bit slower than other virus scanners. The only significant drawback in Dr. Web Anti-Virus for Windows is its large memory footprint. It takes up at least 100 megabytes of memory even when it isn't actively scanning. But 100 megabytes is a small price to pay on modern computers for the security provided by good anti-virus software. (You can use Paypal)

Malware Software:

Hitman Pro (32 & 64 bit):https://www.hitmanpro.com/en-us.aspx

SUPERAntiSpyware: http://superantispyware.com/

Both of anti-malware apps are excellent. Hitman is very powerful tool, make sure you read manual before using it. Hitman is relatively simple to use, so many people don't brother to thoroughly read instructions. SUPERAntiSpyware is the best, I've removed many a computer/browser hijacking with this tools. All of the anti-virus/malware tools have a free trial period.

p.s. I can't say enough about Sandboxie, couple with an anti-virus software... you issues with virus/malware should be at a low minimum.
