a polite thanks, but no thanks.

with a suggestion. "maybe you can contribute some of your food to a homeless shelter." then add, "i really appreciate your gesture, but i'm okay with my current food intake," i appreciate your kindness, however i'm okay with consumming my own food. thanks anyway."

Be honest. It saves yourself and your neighbor some time that's otherwise, wasted. You do more harm "trying to be nice" when you really want it to end.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Have you ever went over a friends house to eat
And the food just ain't no good?
The macaroni's soggy, the peas are mushed,
And the chicken tastes like wood
So you try to play it off like you think you can
By saying that you're full
And then your friend says, "Mama, he's just being polite
He ain't finished, uh-uh, that's bull!"
So your heart starts pumpin' and you think of a lie
And you say that you already ate
And your friend says "Man, there's plenty of food"
So you pile some more on your plate
While the stinky food's steamin', your mind starts to dreamin'
Of the moment that it's time to leave
And then you look at your plate and your chicken's slowly rottin'
Into something that looks like cheese
Oh so you say "That's it, I gotta leave this place
I don't care what these people think,
I'm just sittin' here makin' myself nauseous
With this ugly food that stinks"
So you bust out the door while it's still closed
Still sick from the food you ate
And then you run to the store for quick relief
From a bottle of Kaopectate
And then you call your friend two weeks later
To see how he has been
And he says, "I understand about the food,
Baby Bubba, but we're still friends"

The next time they bring you food except it, thank them, then mention your refrigerator is full now.

My neighbours do that too but I don't see it as being a problem. I've told the lady who lives next door that she shouldn't be bringing me around food or getting her husband to wash my windows etc but she said they don't mind. And if they don't mind, I don't mind smile

Ask them if they would please bring it on Tuesday (or whichever day is the day before trash day). That way, you can just pitch it and it won't take up any space in your refrigerator.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Rosemary to consume daily drinks (and food) made by her neighbor Minnie Castevet.

I don't trust anything unless I made it myself. Well, or if it was made by some unseen cook at a restaurant where they could've done potentially anything to my food before serving it.

.

When we moved into our neighborhood, my wife suggested she make some cookies or something to take as a little gift as we introduced ourself to neighbors.

.

I put the kibosh on that right quick!

.

If I don't eat anything my neighbors bring over, I don't expect any of them to eat anything I give them.

.

Plus some people are on no-sugar diets, gluten-free, lo-carb, etc, etc.

.

Instead we took nothing and just said hello (and to keep an eye out for anyone trying to rob our house).

You could go the long route and find out why this person feels the need to bring you food. Are they lonely and need to buy your friendship or something? Watch a movie with them once in a while instead if you like them. Is it some guy that gets off on being a feeder? Once you figure out why then you can make a decision from there on how polite you want to be.
