Breaking Bad - The Movie

Two French fans edited together Breaking Bad into a 127-minute movie. They've used a few music montages to move the story along, and even created a new intro credit sequence (that's very well done actually). There are a lot of flashbacks in the show that they used for the beginning of the movie to set the stage, and move it along.

Of course, it has its problems. Gus Fring's involvement is minor in comparison, Hank in a wheelchair in parts is never explained, and the whole Mexico thing is never even approached. Overall, it's a good attempt, but gaunt in storytelling. So much of the character development we loved about Breaking Bad can't be put into it. Even him becoming Heisenberg isn't really explained, per se. Some of the subtleties are missing (like his disregard for where to park in the last episode, so his car is lined up to the clubhouse when everyone gets shot). The "El Paso" song and him hiding out in the mountains isn't there either. Like I said, it's anorexic.

But, for someone who's never seen the series at all, it could be a good enticement to watch the series. (I highly recommend watching the series.)

Has anyone else seen it yet? It just came out days ago. http://www.bbthemovie.com/

They are obviously film supremacists. I have no desire to watch the movie. The 62 hour tv series is a great experience to watch and rewatch.

I have no idea what that means. My question was to find out who did see it.

By film supremacists I meant people who only take movies seriously and think television is crap. But I'm sorry to derail your thread. smile

Conjecture. They actually praised the show as being the best show ever on television. So, moreover you derailed your own comment.

Sounds like they tried to cram too much into a couple of hours. Doesn't sound tempting.

I think that's becoming a problem with movies, tv shows are playing out liked very long movies so they can pack more into the character developement, movies are becoming for more instant gratification needing to make a big impact immediately.

It definitely lacked a lot of the depth we've come to know on Breaking Bad. It was certainly an interesting experiment to undertake, though. I don't usually rewatch series once their over, but Breaking Bad is one I would. I do watch Family Guy and Three's Company repeats, though.

It's phenomenal. By the end, you'll know why people rave over it.
