The family of wrestling star Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka has reported via Instagram that he has passed away. No cause of death was immediately released, although he had been in hospice care since mid-December.

Snuka was one of the early stars of the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE), and his theatrical, daredevil style set the stage for much of wrestling’s current image and persona.

Wasn't he supposed to have been a murderer or something? I don't know much about him, he was before my time, but I remember reading somewhere that he killed someone.

If the story is to believed, yes. There's actually a book about what is supposed to have happened written by Irv Muchnick, nephew of Wrestling at the Chase promoter Sam Muchnick called Justice Denied. Superfly is alleged to have murdrred his girlfriend in a hotel room. It's also alleged Vince McMahon called in a few favours and covered it up. This is what I've heard/read over the years. Now we won't really ever know the truth but it's best to try and separate the man from the wrestling gimmick and I'm sure WWE have tread carefully because if they ever manage to uncover the truth it won't reflect too well on either Jimmy or Vince. But on a more positive note He was a trailblazer for the high flying ring style, was involved in one of the most infamous angles with Roddy Piper. Plus he was part of the first WrestleMania and I think his legacy and influence on wrestling will over shadow any controversy. RIP Jimmy Snuka.

Not guilty until proven guilty, I will always stand by that. I haven't been following the case all that much, so I don't really have an opinion on it.
