I hope this thread doesn't include spoilers as it goes on, because that would just be rude.

I read recently that the death scene with Negan's was re-filmed because......well, because of some reason. I don't really know who to expect in the death, but it's sure to be gruesome.

The leak about Daryl is really a distraction to lure you into the premiere. There was a Yahoo! news article about that just today. Jeffrey Dean Morgan confirms, though, that Negan kills a lot of people this season.

At ComicCon, the show's creator did reveal it won't be a minor character that gets the bat.

While everyone was careful to not spoil the question of who was at the receiving end of that bat, Robert Kirkman -- who of course is also the creator of The Walking Dead comic -- essentially promised the crowd today that the victim will not be someone of little consequence. People will not be relieved by this death, he said: “We can’t have that.” So expect an important character to go.

All that said, in the comics Negan kills Glenn. But I've read that it's not Glenn in the show. Did we not see the upset when he allegedly died last year? I think it'd lose it's punch if he really died this year.

Also, here's a teaser they released. There's a bit of gore at the very end, FYI. (Who am I warning? This is a TWD thread! haha)

Ok well, actually now I'd be quite ok if its Glenn. I wouldn't like it, but I could live with it. But let's say it's not Glenn....then it would have to be either Daryl or Carl. I don't think it would be Maggie. I'd say its a lesser chance that its Carl because I'd think that Rick wouldn't even be able to speak if it were him. Going by his reaction in the preview above, and the blood on the right side of Rick's face of whoever got the bat, it's got to be Daryl or Glenn.

If it's Daryl, then TWD folks are doing well in hiding it, because Norman Reedus has been on every show promoting the premiere next week.

Carl's a shit, and I'd be fine with that. I do think Rick could speak if it was Carl. He was so stunned but resolute in saying he would kill Negan without reservation. In the comics, Glenn got the bat, but we do sorta know it's not the same as the comics in this setting. Again, I think Glenn getting the bat would be anti-climactic with his alleged death last season.

We know Carl didn't because Negan said "if anyone moves, cut the boy's other eye out and feed it to his father". That's a reference to Carl and Rick, so obviously they're both safe. I do think Carl getting the bat would not only have been super gruesome, but really shocking to kill off a kid, even in zombie times.

But here's my theory: Let's examine that final scene and who was on Rick's right side, though. From Rick to the right it was Maggie, Abe, Michonne, Daryl, Rosita, then Glenn on the end (to our and Negan's left). So if Rick had blood on the right side of his face, and we're assuming it was a splatter from the bashing rather than just Negan slinging his bat around with blood on it, then I'll make a prediction here, I think it's Abe that gets Lucille to the skull. He's a bit more of a disposable character although important enough to cause shock and awe. We know it's a guy (probably) because Negan refer to "he" taking it. I'd be really surprised if it were Daryl.

And can I just say, last season was brilliant, how they kept following through on the same day over and over, but telling another person's story, then bringing it all together in the end. It's a bit like the way Seinfeld told stories. Everyone had a different thing happening, but in the end, it all came together and their stories crossed paths.

I think the biggest shocker is if it were female. Can't say nobody would see it coming since every single person in that line up has had someone explaining why they think it was them. But the females are the least suspect because I get the impression that it is something the comic Negan would never do.

I get that.

But I'll admit I'm not as squeamish as I was coming to the season finale. I've had enough time to process it, and I'm more ready to move on with the story, though I'll be very heartbroken.

i dunno, hope that's true. but, last season i was not sympathetic to that pre-emptive style kill-raid-for-hire in exchange for food, where they agreed to slaughter people they'd never even met.... and how maggie and carol mercilessly offed those inside that building.

if negan heard about that, he might feel maggie was entitled to some rough justice. the fact that she is clearly severely ill, maybe even dying, might also influence negan's choice.

he quite matter-of-factly informed rick & co. that he wanted them alive, so they could work for him....

Yep his statement had me thinking it was Maggie because of her weakened state. But then I've pretty much have gone through most of them so I'm not set on anyone.

One other thing that puzzles me:

Negan talks to his right-hand man...to his right. The guy says "he was carrying a hatchet". The hatchet comes into the shot from Negan's right. So - was it someone to Rick's left, and maybe the blood on his face was just Negan slinging his bat around once it was over? Was it Eugene, a rather inconsequential character? Males to Rick's left are Aaron and Carl, then Eugene.

Is Aaron a heavy enough character to render such a shocking outcome to fans?

Rick loses his hand to the Governor in the comics. The reference to "everyone needs a right-hand man" - is that a taught that Negan actually butchered Rick's right hand? Probably not, but interesting theory I read.

The ones I think are highly unlikely, Carl, Rosita and Sasha. And I think Negan does cut off Rick's gun hand. To Rick's right (not in order) Daryl, Michonne, Maggie, Glenn, Rosita and Abraham. I think it's one of them. If it was Maggie then I know Negan would have had to take Glenn out too because no way he'd of just sat there and let that happen to her. But who knows all the "clues" could be fake outs. Or it could just follow the comics since Glenn finally crossed the magic moral line and the audience already dealt with the possbility of his death in the mid-season cliffhanger. As I said Rosita is most likely safe but eliminating her relieves a problem for Abraham and Sasha, Or they could just continue the whole nothing ever last theme and take out Abraham. Michonne would be the biggest shock for the audience and Danai may be ready to move on to other things, and Daryl isn't even in the comics and Norman has another show. Yep, I have no clue.

Killing off Michonne or Daryl would be the most stupid thing to do at this point. They are simply too popular and it would be a major buzzkill to get rid of them.

Glenn is more likely to be killed because ...

1- he dies in the comics

2- we´ve already been prepared for his death

Maggie is also a candidate because....

1- it would be an interesting twist and interesting deviation from the graphic novel and it would still have somewhat to do with Glenn

2- she seems to be very sick so it wouldn´t be that much of a loss and we are prepared

.

Carl (or rather, CORAL lol ) is much too important of a character in the graphic novel, so I guess he´ll stay, regardless of whether fans like him or not (I like him but most fans hate him). And Carl has already sacrificed an eye ,so to speak, so I bet it won´t be him.

.

Abraham is another likely candidate. He´s popular and vital to the group due to his military background and sheer physical strength but he´s not THAT important, he came to the group much later. I´d hate to see him go though...I really like him and want him to be happy with Sasha.

.

It definitely won´t be Rick. But I´m pretty sure he´s going to lose his hand because I take his hand injury as a premunition that his hand has got to go. Which is rather sad and very impractical.

.

As far as I know they shot that scene with every single character getting killed so that there won´t be any spoilers....not sure how that´s going to work out though.

.

Can´t wait for the season to start.

It´s still a mystery to me how one show can be so exciting and popular and its spin-off so unpopular and boring even though it ´s the same guys behind it and the story was written by Robert Kirkman, too. But I must admit I quite like Fear the Walking Dead, too. It has its flaws but I still like it and enjoy watching it.

Regarding Glenn, we have read it's not him, like in the comics, so he's ruled out. I'll still maintain even more that it's not Glenn because we've seen him die. I mentioned that his death (again) would be anti-climactic.

As far as Michonne or Daryl, "the creator of The Walking Dead comic -- essentially promised the crowd today that the victim will not be someone of little consequence. People will not be relieved by this death, he said: “We can’t have that.” So expect an important character to go." They are likely candidates, but I'm ruling out Michonne because Negan refers to "he". It could be Daryl, but I've avoided that because I'd hate to see him go more than anyone. He's really transformed from his days as Merle's younger rebellious brother to a dedicated member of Rick's crew. That would truly be a punch to the gut to see him bashed.

Maggie is sick and all, but Negan wasn't doing a mercy killing. He's doing it totally random and because he can. We might be relieved by her death, and we've just read that ain't gonna happen. I do believe it could be Abe, but when again, if you read what I typed about the hatchet, instead of the blood on Rick's right cheek giving away possibilities, it could be the opposite, and be Eugene. Aaron isn't that big of a character, and since Negan referred to Carl just before he started, we know it's not Carl most likely. I wish I had the last episode so I could see who was carrying a hatchet. Maybe I'll torrent that thing and watch. Or find it onDemand.

Really?

Why?

He should feel honored that other folks managed to make zombie stories interesting again.

His last zombie movie (Land of the Dead ?) was a bad joke.

I don't know. Maggie is the one in the middle and right next to Rick. That's a stupid reason I know but I think it's as good a reason as any given this world and after Glenn's magical escape last season, it's due for something totally unfair.

Michonne's saving grace may be she's still very popular in the comic as well as the show, and Daryl got so popular on the show, he was added to the comics. Maggie is supposedly leaving the group in the comics, but given that Carol is still left alive in the show she could very easily fill the spot Maggie does in the comics.

I really don't understand what that picture is trying to say anyway. I do think it's Abe or Maggie, if that blood is a splatter from the deed.
