Old Skool Thread #1: What's The Last VHS Movie You Ever Bought?

So for those of you old enough; what was the last VHS tape that you purchased?

question

For me, it was MR & MRS SMITH.

I remember seeing it ridiculously discounted (like $4) and I figured "Why Not?". I never watched it because soon thereafter my ex bought it on DVD.

shrug

Funny enough, it was probably the first 3 Star Wars movies. I got them really cheap before Revenge of the Sith came out so my brother and I could binge watch. Episode I and II we had to get on dvd.

If you will, so will I

"Under The Cherry Moon"..still sealed. Bought it a flea market in the early 90's for $1.00.

believe it was Murder by Numbers with sandra bullock. then i moved and along the way donated 200 movies to the thrift store because my VHS tape collection took up my entire closet. now, my DVD collection is bigger, but takes up way less space. kudos to progress!

It was the vintage adult film Strange Bedfellows around five years ago. It was one of the first adult movies I saw as an impressionable teen and I tracked it down for nostalgic purposes. Never released on DVD.

As for legit movies, I have no idea since I no longer own any on VHS. I do still have 3 Chains O' Gold on videocassette, but I don't think anyone here considers that a legit movie either.

I really don't remember. Probably a Sergio Leone movie.

Mmmm, not sure. If Prince bootlegs count, then it was probably a Prince bootleg.

Otherwise, it was probably a whole batch of comedies like "Animal House", "Caddyshack", etc. that I bought in the early 90's. I think.

Funny...you know how plastic is supposed to last forever? Well, I had a box of VHS tapes from my youth that I uncovered (in the back of a closet) when I moved back home. I opened it up and 75% of the tapes were MOLDY.
nod They were covered inside and out with a white fuzz.

I found the director's (Joseph Losey ) version on eBay 4 years ago.The only issues, I don't own a VHS machine. lol So, I had to ask one of my techie hoarder friends did he own a machine that could ripped this movie digital format.

I spent a lot of money buying miniseries like Centennial and I, Claudius on vhs because they weren't on DVD. Now, you can get Centennial on DVD for $31 at Walmart. doh! lol
