This might be the next "Rome", cancelled for being too expensive. Hope for high viewership.

This is HBO's attempt to replace Game of Thrones with a new hit. Hbo only has two very short seasons left of GOT. They need a new hit and this looks like it could be.

They are gonna screen this on Foxtel's Showcase channel next month....the trailer looks good, I'll check it out. Westworld: your best reason to get Foxtel http://thenewdaily.com.au...bo-foxtel/

I don't think it will reach that height. If GOT hadn't grown from it's first season it would have been canned eventually. It's the most expensive show in TV history. Boardwalk Empire level of viewership plus critical acclaim should keep Westworld safe.

Critical acclaim and high viewership couldn't save Deadwood... sad

Loved the film - and this does look worthy of a peek.

If we are talking french cinema Blue....then "Betty Blue" has one of the greatest opening lines/scenes ever...

"I had known Betty for a week. We screwed every night. The forecast was for storms."

It may not be a hit like GOT, but it could be a hit like True Blood or something in between.

True Blood was getting over 5 million live viewers a week during its peak (seasons 2 through 4), that was higher than GOT for its first 2 and a half seasons. I would like to see this get close, 5 million is beastly for premium cable. I'm expecting between 2 and 2.5 million for the premiere. At least it gets 4 weeks without having to compete with The Walking Dead.

This is the re-imaging, and remake of one of my favorite movies I'd catch on TV as a elementary school kid. I have it on blu-ray! It's an idea that evolved to "Jurrasic Park"

On a side note: I wasn't into the Terminator because I had already seen that shit in Westworld and The Bionic Woman and even Buck Rogers as a child.

I just watched the original Westworld (1973) starring James Brown and Yul Brynner on Fox Classics (Foxtel) and it's a pretty good film for its time. I give it 3.5 out of 5 popcorn basically it's about a robot malfunction that creates terror and havoc for vacationers at a futuristic multi-themed amusement park....Yul was totally awesome as a deadly robot gone rogue....I think his performance might have influenced The Terminator films....especially his movement and those eyes boxed it was so T-1000 like menacing. It gonna be fun to compare the new version with the original.biggrin bring it on thumbs up!

I had a serious crush on Yul Brenner as a kid even after seeing that movie. I'll wait a bit on the remake series.

I've just watched it and its really good.....I wonder if The Man in Black is the updated version of The Gun Slinger (Yul's character) from the 1973 film?

Except he's switched to be a human, right? I haven't seen it yet, but I'm a little worried it doesn't have the sense of adventure of the original that then turns into horror as things go wrong. Like it starts off already in a certain grim mood, and stays one note. I'll check it out closely today!
