Why Is GD so Dead What happened 2 all the GD orgers? I know that it was closed for awhile when Prince passed, but hell they never came back? whats the deal in here? | |

I think bit by bit we started losing people 2 fb etc & then since April we've lost more. It's definitely quieter/slower round here. A lot of folks I used 2 see on PM&M haven't posted since April too. Whole heap of noobs tho. Some are very cool, some are....12?! At least I hope their 12! because i have other things to do with my time than to try and carry the org on my back... i mean, i'm the king... i have had to resort to grunt work for the last 90 days or so and i find it repugnant... me doin grunt work indeed...

Thanks for thinking I'm a 'cool one'. I've put in an ass load of time into fan forums. I started back in 1998 on the old scifi.com board. I've hosted forums and was a Global Moderator for gbgals.com. I think on the flip side, some of us Old Timers have also come back "home" in lieu of recent events, even if not on the daily, we're just kind of quiet. I think we're maybe also even checking out some of the other forums, too. Heck, I even ventured into the PM&M forum in recent weeks, which I've been pretty steadfast in avoiding for the 10 years or so I've been a member here | |

I think we made a mistake when we temporarily closed most forums in April without way conspicuous notice the change was only partial and temporary. Several orgers said that upon unsuccessfully trying to access one of the closed forums, they simply assumed the entire site was closing down. I assume many have returned, but some won't.
That aside, the place has seen decreasing activity over the years, and certainly other social media channels have something to do with it. Maybe we need a fun project to stir the spirit in here.

For me personally life got in the way..... I mostly window shop through the threads on GD Prince used to draw me in because he was always so interesting and I loved seeing what he was up to....
