CBS's New 'Star Trek' Series Will Stream on Netflix Worldwide

Yay?

Image result for minions

Nerds of the world rejoice. CBS’s new Star Trek TV series set to premiere on the network’s digital subscription network CBS All Access in January 2017, will also — thankfully — be available on Netflix in 188 countries, 24 hours after the original episode airs, Netflix announced today.

On top of that, Netflix recently secured the rights to all 727 existing episodes ofStar Trek including the original series, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine,Voyager, and Enterprise to stream worldwide. Fans around the world will now be able to boldly go to whichever Trek iteration their Trekkie heart desires on the streaming giant by the end of 2016.

In a press release, Sean Carey, Vice President of Global Television at Netflix says, “Star Trek is one of the most iconic shows in television history and we’re thrilled to partner with CBS to bring the beloved series to Trekkies around the world,” and continued: “The newest chapter of the story promises to continue the rich tradition of adventure and is sure to excite fans everywhere Netflix is available.”

Honestly I hope it airs on CBS, if not then on it's sister station the CW. Good news I heard it does not follow the current horrible time line of the fake JJ Abrams movies.

well... I just came from Star Trek Beyond....

GODDDAMN!! nutty

just like the last one with Khan it was WAAAYY over the top

but we truly laughed so hard all the way through. hell, it was fun! some of it intentional, lots of humor throughout, probably too much for a ST movie. but sadly also many parts of the story were just laughable, seriously. my "fave" part: when they destroy the aliens similar to Mars Attacks, just replacing Slim Whitman with the Beastie Boys lol

but I admit I still very much like the first JJ Star Trek 10
for a while I thought the reboot could be working, but now it is heading nowhere

Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!

The Jaylah character looks alot like Shifter and Downpour from Justice league unlimited and the Wraith from Stargate Atlantis.

OK love Wrath of Khan but here are 2 mistakes (that I'm aware of) in the film.

Khan mentions that he has meet Chekov but that episode was in season one and the character of Chekov didn't show up until season 2. I'm sure Walter Koeing mentioned that to the writers but yet they still kept that in the film. I guess you could argue Chekov was on the Enterprise but wasn't apart of the bridge crew, still there are no scenes of them together.

Ok the episode aired in 1966 and the film came out in 1982, so about 16 years has passed by. There were no children apart of Khans crew in the TV episode but yet in the movie there are people in there 20's. The youngest people should be in their mid 30's not in there 20's. If they had children then the oldest children should be in their teens and not in their 20's

that is a satisfying explanation.
consider this, we do not get even an hour of scenes during Space Seed. but Khan was on the Enterprise for a few days I'd say. so during all these endless hours we did NOT get to see, it makes sense that he had also interaction with other people than the bridge crew. also it makes sense that Checkov or anyone who gots to have a place on the bridge, should serve some time on the lower decks before his promotion. so the stretch is not a big one. much bigger holes had to be filled to explain away mistakes during the last 50 years to protect continuity

Ok the episode aired in 1966 and the film came out in 1982, so about 16 years has passed by. If they had children then the oldest children should be in their teens and not in their 20's

we should not go by the date of release but only infomration available in the movies and epsiodes. but this is also not consistent. Space Seed was in 2267. Khan says they were on Ceti Alpha 15 years, so WoK should take place in 2282. however the Romulan ale bottle dates to 2283. the official timeline places the movie in 2285 so 18 years after Space Seed. in any scenario your argument with children age is valid. unless genetic engineered humans age at a different speed smile

Yeah, I'd say you're a pretty long ways away to attend that one. Awesome you got to see it. Too bad it's getting so commercialized. But I'm so stoked about keeping the universe big and alive I'm overlooking that. And I got a big crush on Karl Urban so that helps.

Too bad, I liked the first one, too. Loved having Leonard Nimoy in it; hated the destruction of Vulcan.

Vulcan and it's rich history was one of the most fascinating elements of the Star Trek canon.

Maybe we'll have better luck with the new CBS series? Which tv series was your favorite, apart from the original? Mine was Next Generation. I never missed an episode.

Honestly I really liked them all (Including Star Trek continues). Though I do have to say season 2 of Enterprise was horrible and dull. Every other episode some one was captured and then the last 15 minutes of the episode was them getting rescued. Season 4 was what Enterprise was supposed to be about. By the way just picked this up.
