missfee said: yeah this episode was good. sad about the young guy committing suicide but revenge was had lol I'm starting to believe the stepdad did have her killed for the money and Nasir's mom is getting on my nerves. Chandra seems like a good lawyer but dumb for getting involved with a client. I'm not a cat person lol but you're right the relationship between Stone and the Cat is cute. Really good series so far.

In a way (slightly), I can understand her frustration because Naz has turned not only his family upside down but also the lives of those with similiar backgrounds to their own. It's embarrassing, frustrating and disappointing, but I can't understand her turning her back on her own son though. I'm really surprised at how quickly Naz has turned into this perfect thug while in prison. If he gets out, is he not going to return to school? Is he not going to get a job? hmmm

That's if he gets out of jail omg cause some of inmates don't want him to leave.

Well he does make me nervous. lol With his quick transformation into that "thug life" persona, I'm not sure if his turn to the dark side is just a front while he's in prison or if he has ACTUALLY turned to the dark side. Did you see the way he shook his head and looked at his friend while the guy was on the witness stand testifying about when Naz sold him some drugs? That guy looked like he was going to urinate on himself when he looked at Naz. lol

And speaking of that kiss that Naz and his lawyer, Chandra shared? Well you guys do know that it was caught on camera right? That's another issue they are going to have to deal with.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

WELL. That was some finale. Had the hairs on my neck standing up the whole time because I was so afraid that someone was going to die. lol Call me paranoid.

So we FINALLY find out that it was the financial advisor/boyfriend who killed Andrea. Wish they could've gone a little more deeper into this though.

How great was John Tuturro during the closing argument???? clapping This man definitely deserves an Emmy or some type of award for his performance in this series. He's already such a good actor anyway and his performance here just proves it even more.

How DUMB was Chandra? OMG, really? How are you so intelligent to make dumb moves such as number 1, kissing your client....number 2, smuggling drugs in for your client...number 3, putting your client on the stand...then number 4, CRYING in court when it appears that you just convicted your client???!!!??? WTF???? How in the world do you have the audacity to CRY when you know what you did wrong? Urgh. And she really thought that her boss was going to be understanding? Pfft. I guess we can add naive to the list too.

Funny how Stone is always the one that his peers are laughing at, but he got in front of court and put the HAMMER down during that closing argument. Poor guy broke out with his exema once again...I thought it was because of stress but it's because he brought the cat back too right, since he's allergic to it? I was so nervous when he had his asthma attack. And to think, that powder that the Asian man gave him actually did nothing at all. lol

So let's talk about Freddie. Michael K. Williams did a brilliant job with this character. I mean I still can't figure this guy out. I can't tell if he had an agenda the whole time or if he really was sincere with Naz. He surely created a great criminal in Naz but I think admired him too, if that makes any sense.

The stepfather proved to be innocent of the crime, but he still was a jerk. I loved it when Stone flipped him off while they were going through security. lol

And lastly, let's discuss Naz. It's clear that despite the new information that the detective guy found, that the prosecution was definitely not interested since they were far into the trial. SMH. Can you imagine how many times a DAY that this happens? Sad. So basically, the system failed an innocent young man. He now has a criminal background record and a drug problem.

One question I do have though about the judge...remember when the jury came back and said that they were deadlocked? How is that the judge was TRYING to force them to go back and change their minds? Isn't this illegal? I didn't think any one, much less a JUDGE, could tell a jury "no the results of your discussions aren't good enough, so go back and come up with a guilty verdict". eek eek eek WTF? All of this to avoid a re-trial? It just doesn't seem right at all.

Chandra was a hot mess...guess she was really lonely lol Sad that the prosecutor seems to be a typical lawyer of the day like you pointed out. I cant even imagine how many innocent people have suffered through stuff like this. That judge was crooked too eek I also thought Nas was gonna be killed before he made it to the gate which opened real slow lol

You know....I've taken another look at the finale and I'm now convinced that the stepfather isn't innocent at all. I believe that the stepfather and the financial advisor/boyfriend were in on this together. The boyfriend steals the money out of the account then is given the key by the stepfather or steals a key from the girl to gain access to the brownstone and commit the murder so that the stepfather could get the house. Either way, I believe they were in it together to commit the murder.

Yeah it gets a 4 oughtta 5 only cuz I think Naz was a recreational drug user in the beginning and they basically ruined his life and turned him into a hardcore drug user and criminal. Stone just goes to show that U cant judge someone by looks alone...good lawyer. Chandra just went all out smugglin drugs in her VJ...bitch was crazy lol

His name is Michael K. Williams. He's been in a lot of movies and HBO projects...most notably "The Wire" and "Boardwalk Empire". Great actor indeed. nod

If the ratings were good (and I think they were) then there definitely will probably be a continuance of this series. It reminded me of how good season 1 of "True Detective" was, however, season 2 was a bore. It would be great to at least do a part 2 next summer to see what happens to all of the characters as you said. I could definitely see Naz living a life in and out of jail. Perhaps Freddie gets out and recruits Naz for more criminal action. Stone becomes a more prominent lawyer. His closing argument was so powerful. He definitely did the damn thing!

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Staying away from the rest of the posts at the moment only because I am on ep 4 and want to avoid spoilers. Just gotta say that I love how this series is unfolding. The slow, deliberate pace really gives you a feel for what this guy is going through as the system engulfs him.

And with only a few episodes left to see, I am beginning to lose hope that somebody would please, for the love of god, bring Freddy a box of Honey Nut Cheerios! /omarlives
