Even with revisiting Fear The Walking Dead...

It still sucks! I can't figure out if it's the characters, the cast or if its just damn slow. I've been trying to give it a chance, but it's just not working eek Anybody else having problems watching it?

wow i kid you not i was just thinking that

not sure why, the pacing bothers me. too much lingering artfully and the characters are still shallow or something. i am not connecting with this show even though i want to

Yes something is not right. Maybe the characters arent developed enough or maybe we are just use to zombies being everywhere like the original show lol Also Im not trying to offend anyone but the cast is all hispanic...no diversity eek I mean there are many flaws with this show.

yup! all of the above. some say it is rude to give ther writers a bit of a nudge with our observations and insightful commentary, but i think the editing or something, maybe the sequencing of the scenes feels off. it's weird because this is potentially really suspenseful. i feel like they should edit it the way that TV series 24 was edited or something.

The main character, the highschool teacher, is a Maori, then there´s that hustler black guy who helps that teacher´s son. The character that Ruben Blades played (and of course his wife and daughter) are the only Hispanic or Latin people that I remember.

There´s a lot to criticize about this show but lack of diversity ? I haven´t really noticed any of that so far.

Then again, this show is so unmemorable that I don´t even remember.

But I´m still giving it a chance and my optimism regarding the future of this show is skyhighy. lol

I mean, it IS made by the same guys who do The Walking Dead, so must know what they are doing. Maybe this just needs some more time to kick off and become interesting. The last episode was pretty alright, with that mysterious boat cliffhanger and all.

Well the dad is white I believe but playing a hispanic man in the show and to be honest all the African American male roles have been killed off I mean no surprise there lol Is that guy who owned the house and boat still alive? I can't remember hmmm anyway I may be wrong about the ethnicity of the cast but their acting in general sucks lol

it has all the right ingredients though. it should work. i don't feel the characters' bond as strongly as i felt in walking dead. maybe becauss of the way the story unfolds, rick all alone, finding morgan, slowly finding others.

agreed and I was hoping this would fill in the gap between what happened before we get to Rick waking up in the hospital. The way the first season went I dont know if it has the ability to catch up and pull viewers in eek

To be honest, for several months I entirely forgot FTWD even exists. Can't be a good sign.

LA was the wrong setting. it was small town type stuff supposedly in one of the top 5 largest cities, let alone one of the most diversified, in America. It looked dumb. The characters haven't meshed. Its been cookie cutter in its plot, parents don't talk to their grown children they just boss them around, annoying teens, a chubby computer geek is the only person who knows whats going on, evil military, immigrant with a violent past, scared cops who run away, a grungy-looking charlie chalin wanna be johnnie depp looking guy who doesn't change for weeks(the teen cutie who is so sensitive but has problems that love could conquer), the useful quick-thinking exwife is the first to die. Nothing surprising or unique really happens, etc. Making the zombies somewhat mysterious at this point is annoying, can these mofos climb out off windows (i guess so they climb up and down stairs now).

I haven't revisited. I swore I would not watch season2. And I haven't seen the plane one.

But I am interested in seeing if zombies can swim or walk aross the ocean bottom, but still dread watching the show.

I caught it on sale at Target a few weeks ago for $10 so I copped it. I can honestly say it was one of the most boring shows I've ever watched! I was really surprised. The writers could have done so much more with it. I didn't connect to or care about any of the characters. And they didn't even leave you with a cliff hanger to make you excited about a second season. Or will there be a second season? If there is, I'm going to skip it. Why folks feel they need to spin-off a succussful series is beyond me. They hardly ever live up to expectations. Anyway, I sold my DVD on ebay so at least I got my 10 bucks back. headbang

It's renewed for a 15 episode second season, presumably airing this Summer.

The dad is of Māori New Zealand
One of the main African-Americans is rich and a key character who has the house/boat at the ocean

I think it is 1.) we are used to the Walking Deads non stop action (we were dropped right in the beginning of the craziness) with Fear the Walking Dead it would be slow, trying to show how 'normal' the world was before the plague hit.

2.) the last few episodes pic up for me, and made it worth it, I look forword to seeing where it goes from here.

nod Not white, polynesian. And his character is the same, not Latino, just brown-skinned.

The previews make it look like they're swimming. They're probably not, but there's that tiny possibility they are and I want to see it. What to do, what to do?

The whole, let's make this in LA so we can put them on a boat in the ocean, really irritated me.

We stopped watching it half way through. I still have 3 episodes on my dvr and we never get around to finishing it.

I might finally get to it this month and give season 2 a chance, but, eh, it's spring, the weather's getting nicer. I might have better things to do.

the last few episodes is where the action really picks up, and you see it explode. Worth watching
