The Org Fitness Thread - Part 2

We hit the 60-day mark on thread 1 so it self-locked. Well, that thread might have ended but our fitness didn't!

PurpleJedi is KILLING it with the boot camp.

DJJ is about to take the ice by storm!

Phisanga is crushing it at the gym!

I, on the other hand, just started a 20-day Rodeo. No, I don't ride any animals. I'm one of 36,000 volunteers. Who just happens to have found the Wine Garden last night. And didn't leave until late. Maybe not my best move, but I still did those 100 push-ups this morning. Oh man did they hurt! But today is the 62nd day of the year so I'm at 6,200 push-ups this year. Haven't missed a day yet.

Join us! Let's hear some fitness success stories!

Anyone know some good/necessary stretching excercises? I really need to work on that. I'm way too stiff. Also, I think I'll do more bodyweight and calisthenics exercices. I'm not necessarily into muscles mass, but rather lean and functional muscles. I really like Ido Portal, his videos and approach to movement is really interesting. And he has the ideal body, I think. Look at what he with the gymnastic rings at 3:50....

This week will be just a little stretching in the morning and some running, everything else will pause, I think. Except for the 100 push-ups, did that today for the first time. Took me 6:40, the reps were 30-20-18-12-10... damn, that's only 90! falloff mad

Awesome! You aren't resting much between sets. I think that's the most important part of it.

LOL, I know how you feel on that "that's only 90!" thing, LOL. For about five months, I thought that since I was walking up stairs to the 16th floor, that I was walking 16 floors. Then I realized that there is no floor 0 and I thought "Dang!"

Today is Day 10 of the rodeo. I haven't been in the gym since i think last Saturday or Sunday. It's all running together. I might go in tomorrow morning, but I won't see the gym after that for at least another 10 days.

Still doing my push ups, although it's been really tough a couple of mornings.

Thanks! Currently, I'm trying to find the right balance of repetitions... Today, 5:57min, 45 - 20 - 17 - 10 - 8. After a couple ok weeks, I should try this with diamond push ups.

I do two sets of 50 each but it takes me almost as long as your five sets. I may break them up like you're doing, rest very little between sets, and see how that feels.

I wonder which is better for results, though. There should be differences, even if minimal.

Great!

I've done 3:44 the last two days. 50 reps in about 50 seconds; rest for 2 minutes; then 50 more reps.

Still haven't hit the gym this month. I was hoping to go in yesterday morning but couldn't make it. I might get to go in Wednesday or Thursday though.

I fell victim to The Bottomless Glass of Wine Monday night, and then had a really busy Tuesday. So I didn't do my push-ups when I woke up nor was I able to do them during the day. Then we went to the Rodeo again last night (but no booze!).

We were driving home and I looked at the clock. Oh no, 11:35 PM! I made it home at 11:52, got out of my rodeo duds, and finished my push-ups at 11:59 PM. Yikes, that was close!

Already done the 100 for today. No more close calls!

The Rodeo is over! I made it! And, I snuck in a workout Saturday morning. Still can press 306 pounds, whoopeeee!

I hope to settle back into a gym routine once Easter is over. Plus, our office building is opening a gym, so I can maybe join it and have an easier place to work out at during the week.

I've got to hit a 350-pound benchpress before I head to New Mexico in late June. That's only 90 days away!

Still doing push-ups every day, but haven't made it to the gym in about two weeks. I feel great, though. We'll see. If I'm going to hit that 350 pound benchpress before the end of June, I have to figure out a way to get into the gym 3 times a week.

I'm about to head out for the weekend, so y'all have a good one! But I did want to say this:

Tomorrow is April 10th, which means it's the 100th day of the year. After I do my daily push-ups, my total for the year will be 10,000 push-ups.

I've got in a couple work-outs the last few days. Great to be back in the gym! Most of the strength is still there, although it was a struggle to bench 306. Unless I can get in regular, hard work-outs starting NOW, I don't know about hitting 350 on the bench before my summer vacation.

Our office building complex is opening a gym this week (if it ever stops flooding!). I'm going to check it out to see if they have bench press stuff that will suffice. If they do, that will be huge. I'm not excited about paying for five gym memberships every month (2 for me, 2 for my wife, 1 for my daughter) but if that's what I have to do, then that's what I have to do.

We're going to Cancun next week and I'm such a dork that I'm looking forward to the chance to get in two workouts at the hotel more than laying out by the pool.

just got back from doing a power walk. someone out there encourage me to be more consistent to do my walks at least 4 to 5 times per week.

walks are good for releasing poison toxins in the body through perspiring. also i just feel very good afterwards

ENCOURAGEMENT PLEASE!

thx

You did great! And you will do it again!

A great football coach once said, "Champions remember their victories and try to repeat them". Remember this great day and do it again!
