Those first 30 seconds....Jesus tapdancing fucking Christ. Did you see how you punched that last guy? God damn. And then Super's look on his face at the end...he knew the fuckup was coming. I might have to see way in the back when I see this so I can jerk off to it.

Now THAT is Batman. I think Ben Affleck has the potential to be the best Batman (with the exception of Kevin Conroy) but despite this being the movie I'm most looking forward to this year, I have a feeling it's going to be terrible. I didn't love Man of Steel either.

I thought it was too depressing for a Superman film. It has it's moments though.

For me, it was the best of all the Superman films. None of those cringe-worthy moments like in the earlier films (making the earth spin backwards). Finally Superman had worthy opponents to fight. He was in over his head at first (because Zod, Faora & Nam-Ek were military trained), but being on Earth his whole life gave him better control over his powers. The battle scenes were great, and for once, an attractive Lois Lane.

I actually prefer the (first two) Christopher Reeve Superman movies. They had some stupid parts in them like you mentioned but when I think of the character of Superman, I think of Christopher Reeve. The battle scenes in Man of Steel were a bit too much I thought. Some of the special effects were overbearing and it felt like watching an animated film. Lois Lane was good though wink

I do not think that is what he did! I think he traveled back in time.... the issue I had was if he could fly that fast he had time to stop both missiles in the first place.

Exactly! This Superman better be like that or I will find Zack Snyder, tie him up, and make him listen to "HitnRun I" for six hours straight.

BTW, have you seen the "Supergirl" TV show? It is AWESOME. I love it.

I haven't seen it yet but I've heard good things. Dean Cain is in it, right? That's good enough for me.

I have nothing but love and respect, for the iconic potryal that Christpher Reeve gave us, as Superman.

But that was then.

Filmmakers have finally caught up to portraying these characters in a more realistic and modern light. Henry Cavill has stepped up to the plate and hit a home run with his physicality and portrayal of the Man of Steel. Christopher Reeve would approve (imo), were he still here.

Ben Affleck has been tearing up the acting scene since "Chasing Amy" and I was not only glad he was cast as Batman, I had no doubt he could pull it off!!! Great job in bringing the Animated Series to life, Mr. Zack Snyder!

Yes, he plays Supergirl's adoptive father. I've only seen him in a few minutes of film so far though.

Henry Cavill could be a great Superman but I'll never forgive him for stealing Larry David's girl in Whatever Works... The charming, sexy bastard! razz

I'm a big fan of Ben Affleck so I was glad to see him cast as Batman. I'm looking forward to his solo movie.

Exactly, but I still have reservations about Mr. Jennifer Hopez playing The Dark Knight.

Forgetting about Daredevil and Gigli, Ben Affleck is a really good actor. I think his bad reputation is undeserved. There was a time when he was a joke in Hollywood but he's really turned things around and proven himself in the likes of The Town and Argo. In fact, before he was announced as the new Batman, I was asked who I would cast in the role by a friend of mine and I said either Jon Hamm or Ben Affleck. If any piece of casting is going to let this movie down, it will be Jesse Eisennerd.

nod

I'm skeptical as well, but I won't cast judement until I see the film. Fingers crossed that he impresses me more than Gene Hackman or Kevin Spacey with their: let's buy up all the land and destroy the parts we don't like-real estate mogul type, portrayals.

I must have missed that era of Lex Luthor in the comics. I always understood him to be a scientist trying to figure out a way to destroy Superman, not as a potential land owner.

LOL I know, their plans always seemed destined to fail. What did they expect would happen if they got as far as destroying the coast? "You know, we've looked into who bought up all this worthless land before the bomb fell and caused millions of deaths and it turns out the greatest criminal mind of our time was behind it. But I'm sure that's just coincidence and at these prices, who can afford NOT to buy a holiday home in Costa Del Lex or Otisburg". Like, did he think he'd get away with it?? Having said that, I liked both Gene Hackman and Kevin Spacey and I will give the Eisennerd a fair chance in the new movie but if it were up to me, I'd have gone for someone like Dicaprio for Lex.

HAHA brilliant!

That block was f'n epic! It had to happen - there's no fight or drama unless Bats leaves him laying on the floor: "Remember me as the one person who beat you Clark".

Yep, I agree It's the best Superman movie ever. Could have been better but it was still superior to Thor, Thor2, Captain America: First Avenger, Ironman 2&3 and Incredible Hulk.

Each to their own but I would say iron man 3 was better than Man of Steel. Same goes for Thor and Captain America. Hulk was shit and Thor 2 was very blah. Iron Man 2 was about as good as Man of Steel, I thought.

I remember posting the original traler back a few months and ppl were all over it in a really bad way. There were all sorts of negative comments. I think this final trailer shows how awesome this movie is going to be.
