Netflix Jessica Jones

Anybody else on here watching this? What do you think? Where does it rank in Marvel's Cinematic Universe? I'm only 2 episodes in due to work and family commitments so please no spoilers.

So far, I'm loving it. Like I said though, only two episodes in but if it keeps up this level of quality then I'm predicting this will outdo every single superhero show there's ever been! Yep, I'm that impressed so far.

loved it! it is very dark and modern. would one call that neo-noire? almost as sheer gritty as daredevil is.

.

jessica put me off at first. i usually don't like getting to know a character in the nearly first scene by watching him/her drinking and fucking. generally i like easing into that aspect of a character once i have a reason to care. but in this case her character's actions outline jessica's sharp edges.

.

loved the way our non-superhero builds up her team along the way, each person growing into their role. i was struck by how talented the cast is. no one was sneaking those tell tale glances sideways for the cue cards and reading lines, the players brought a lot of energy and style.

.

i thought there were a couple of occasions on which jessica's character seemed to act out of character, as though doing something merely in order to move the plot along. without spoilers, some of her interactions with kilgrave did not ring 100% true to me. she seemed, at times, to contradict her very own stance.

.

then again i think her character is drawn and intended to be eternally conflicted. she's kind of like a lovely train wreck that somehow does good deeds while running right off the tracks.

.

love LOVE that she tells people exactly what she thinks in that whatchagonnadoaboutit fashion. and, is strong enough to defend herself from the consequences. i found her character to be extremely plain spoken and non-tolerant of crap. refreshing.

.

not sure where the next season will take us?

.

i love that netflix and amazon have become movie houses and are producing series like these. this is really an excellent way to introduce fresh concepts, actors and writers to the scene in a non-blockbuster budget kind of way.

.

i read recently that the reason that hollywood keeps releasing remakes is that its biggest audience is now overseas, and the folks abroad want remakes. meanwhile americans are increasingly avoiding mvoie theaters and streaming digital contact to their homes instead. dawn of a new age in movie making and i think it's fabulous.

.

anyway five stars for jessica jones*. starstarstarstarstarstar

Wasted my time again with this crap (it being a Marvel product should have been a clue...) after the badly acted borefest that is Daredevil...
I think all this marvel garbage (save for maybe X-Men 2 which was mostly ejoyable) is just emabarassing and boring pseudo edgy and deep kiddie crap... Gritty is cool in a Batman universe not for some random Marvel knock-off...

So you didn't like it then? LOL.
To be honest, I don't like most superhero films either. I liked the old Superman films (the first two) and the two Michael Keaton Batman films. The first Tobey Maguire Spider-Man was good... And a few of the Avengers films have been cool. However, I really REALLY liked the Daredevil show. So my hopes are high for Jessica Jones. Two episodes in and I'm loving it.

I don't know. It's good, it's really dark but I don't know how long that kind of storyline will hold up for me, too real for too many reallife women. But David's in it being the baddie so I'm kind of thrilled right now.

I never heard of the character before I watched the Daredevil show. I loved that so when I read that this was part of the same world I couldn't resist. I'm very impressed so far.

For the longest time I thought that Jessica Jones what Spider-Woman, but that's Jessica Drew(I think...) Then I remebered the chick always running around with a baby and Luke Cage during Civil War

I just didn't know her story. Now I do lol
I absolutely loved it! I REALLY liked Patsy/Trish. I need a best friend like that lol
There are people saying some characters were "useless" and what not, but I feel they were a part of the "atmosphere" of the story. They were all connected to Jessica in someone, and the people around her were either used of affected in some way. I can't wait to see Luke Cage and Misty Knight! biggrin

Finally finished the first season. Wow! I loved it. Won't say much on here in case anybody stumbles on this thread that hasn't seen the show yet, but yeah, I loved it. Not quite as much as I liked Daredevil but it's very close. The guy that plays the villain was excellent. I know I've seen him before. He looks really familiar. He was great though.

He was one of the doctors from the current Dr. Who series. My favorite one so far. David!

i have seen 3 or 4 of them...good show. but dark and naughty! Not for kids!

I do not see it really as a super hero show (Not yet anyway) more of a crime drama with supernatural elements.

I've watched the whole season. Looking forward to Season 2, same as Daredevil. I'm liking the dark vibes of these 2 shows. Jessica Jones is very much a flawed hero, but with her heart in the right place.

I havne't seen it. I'm not one to watch superhero shows. Except.......

I absolutely LOVE "Supergirl". Which surprises the heck out of me, but there you are. So maybe I will give this Jessica Jones show a whirl one day.

I recommend that you don't. From what I can tell, the Jessica Jones series is the complete opposite of Supergirl. Very dark and grimey. You'll feel filthy after watching it.

I never read any of these comics when I was kid.. I tried to get into Daredevil but his story lines just didn't appeal to me much as a kid (he was too mundane and too normal for me). But I'm actually looking forward to the Luke Cage show, as his character seemed pretty cool. And I hope the casting people listen to the people asking to make the Iron Fist character asian.. because I never really thought about it but there is a real lack of asian characters in their books.

Change it one more time..

Finished it yesterday, I liked it very much. Very refreshing to see such a no-bullshit female main character. She really has funny lines... lol David Tennant is great.

Yeah, he was my favourite character in the whole show. I hope they find a way to bring him back. Also, because this is set in the same universe as the Avengers, I would be very interested to see him appear as a villain in a Captain America or an Iron Man

He was also in Harry Potter as Barty Crouch, Jr.
