I guess it depends on what you get. My experience is that the Carrot Cake bar is the bomb but my Mom and wife's version will put them to shame. Their Italian Cream Cake just forget about it. It taste like something you buy out of the box. Now I've had their birthday cake before too and it's good but nothing beats that female in your family that can make it from scratch and put that right amount of butter and ingredients to make it moist. I've known a few females to make a dry ass cake like some grocery stores.lol You right about WalMart cakes bro. Their Italian Creme cake ain't hitting on shit. If you gonna do Red Velvet don't fuck with any store brand. Forget about it. They generally make it with Cocoa powder. Hell no. shake Get your mama, sister, wife, aunt, or female cousin to do it.

Nothing ever beats a homemade Cake, period...My favorite cakes are Yellow-cake/Chocolate icing, Marble, Pound Cake & a simple White cake/White icing...I don't get into the Fancy cakes...Red Velvet is good and you're right NO ONE makes that cake the same...Some people bake it too long or the icing is too sweet...I've seen one Red Velvet cake that looked dark & wet like it was not done or something.....I'll never buy one for myself, but I'll eat a slice anytime of the year..In the New Year maybe I'll branch out into other Shit..I wanna try Tiramisu...Man that looks so Good...I always look at restaurant Menus to see if they have it but they never do...All I ever see is Blondie Bar or a Damn Giant Cookie...I gotta try something Fancy...

I was thinking....Patti has written a few cookbooks, and her pies are a huge success,so....maybe she should open her own chain of restaurants? hmmm I wonder if she has thought about it

Yep, Patti claimed months ago that she plans to open 7 joints over a period of time (but we know she always talking about Shit..LOL)...Remember she had that Chez LaBelle Night-Club in Philly back in the 90's? She said she had to close it cuz she was eating all the Wings...LOL...Like you said she needs to open a full restaurant or a Patti-Shack'n go joint, not a Club....Hire a Chef that's gonna tweak some of her recipes and it should be a hit....

Yeah, I love those Publix stores. They're much better than those Piggly Wiggly or Food Lion stores.

Country folks LOVE Piggly Wiggly becuz they carry hard to find meats like Possum fillets and Cow heads..I like Food lion becuz they always have the best sale on Bottled water, way cheaper than Walmart..I would not buy a Birthday cake from Food Lion even if that was my Mama's dying wish..

Patti's serving up four fried turkeys, fried turkey legs, brisket, lobster and shrimp macaroni, plain macaroni for those allergic to shellfish, kale salad, candied yams, a leg of lamb, ribs, peach cobbler, chocolate cake and, of course, her famous sweet-potato pie."

I just watched a 16-second Youtube clip of Patti and James Wright Dueting in her dining room area..It looks like she fed an army (including Quest Love) and all of them had their Cell-phones on record...LOL...Very nice of Patti to fly James in and break-bread with him...She needed to clean it up and she accomplished that...Patti lives up to her motto "Go BIG or stay home"...

Apparently, this is the real woman behind the pies. Kinna Thomas is a senior buyer at Walmart who wanted to improve the quality of their baked goods. She came up with the idea of a signature brand and Walmart approached Patti Labelle.

MEET THE REAL WOMAN AND CREATOR BEHIND PATTI LABELLE'S PIE

News & Views | Gerren Keith Gaynor | 11/23/2015 | 11:15 AM EST

Walmart senior buyer Kinna Thomas turns idea into goldmine

While the Internet continues to debate whether or not Patti LaBelle owes James Wright Chanel credit for the success of her pie, the real mastermind behind the sweet potato madness is a little-known woman by the name of Kinna Thomas.

Thomas is a senior buyer for cakes and pies at Walmart, and says it was her vision to improve the superstore's quality of baked goods. Two weeks into the job, she originally had the idea of creating a product birthed from her family recipe. But in the process of testing out pies, she got a better idea.

She ran the idea by Kerry Robinson, Walmart vice president for bakery and deli, and within 24 hours of reaching out to LaBelle, the partnership was a match made in heaven.

“We knew it needed Ms. LaBelle’s special touch as well,” Thomas tells Fortune.

PATTI LABELLE TAKES CREDIT FOR PIE SALE SPIKE, DOWNPLAYS VIRAL VIDEO

Though LaBelle's celebrity name gave the pie life, it was the golden touch of Chanel, YouTube personality and singer, that brought sales through the roof.

Though Walmart says sales were relatively well when it hit stores this past Spring, they sold one pie per second in a 72-hour span after Chanel's online review parody went viral with millions of page views.

Still, there would be no #PattiePie on Walmart shelves had it not been for the vision and execution of Thomas.

Major shout out to this business-savvy sista making moves in her industry!

Let's Bottom line this...Walmart went after Patti, not the other way around. The Vice President also stated in one of many Patti-Pie articles that Patti made suggestions about the Pie ingredients and taste-tested a few before the product was initially packaged and shipped to stores.. The REAL CREATOR AND WALMART WORKER could have left Patti ALONE and went with her own Mammy Pie but she wanted to try and sell some Pies using a Celeb who has some street-cred in the Cooking world...The Stores will be re-stocked this month and we'll see if the Pie continues to sell faster than it's original September debut....People on Social Media continue to say they wanna try a Patti-Pie...
