stressful episode. sad i'm hoping glenn made it, but i believe we are supposed to take the look of anguish on his face throughout the attack of guts eating to mean that he suffered a long painful death and he did not make it. i hope we find out that he did roll under the dumpster and got away, but re-watching the episode imo it's easy to see glen did not survive:

- he is shown at the beginning running for his life;

- early on glenn and michonne are told by rick not to jeopardize themselves by protecting the alexandrians, that glenn and michonne should ditch them and run for their lives if need be;

- two men with wives died ("i want to see my wife again. me too");

- glenn said he was leaving the group to arsonize the feed store in order to ultimately protect maggie and the others;

- glenn pays for his generosity toward nicholas and dies for doing the right thing.

.

i think this episode was an object lesson. a really brutal object lesson in "fuck the others, if they slow me down i'm outta here".

.

then again, sturgiss left the group behind (i'm outta here) and died with the quickness on his own so i really do not know what to make of this episode. file it under shit happens? sad

It really iffy. They want their own JonSnow controversy. Cliffhanger for two weeks.

Wow, what an episode! One of the best yet.

I get that people are upset Glenn is gone, but its fairly obvious he's dead. If you've seen enough zombie movies you know what that scene of him lying on the ground means...a Glenn all you can eat buffet!

If they pull a bait-and-switch and show him somehow escaping its going to cr*p all over the tension of the show, essentially telling the viewer you can fall into a pit of walkers and still come out unharmed. I hope he doesn't pop up at the end of the season all like "Surprise!". Might as well have him waking up in the shower with the whole thing being a dream...

looks like there isn't enough room for glenn to roll under the dumpster sad bawl

.

but we hold out hope anyway. could he miraculously jump to his feet and climb inside the thing?

.

maybe the writers are suffering creative trauma and/or burnout and plan to kill off the main characters at a rate of one per week. the season will finish weeks earlier than planned and the show will simply... end. talk about expecting the unexpected

But another big body fell on top of him. What we saw has Glenn watching Nicolas get ripped open

And it is easy for them to have put things in place that allow him to escape, a sound could easily distract most of them and cause them to move away

P.S. That scene of Andew Lincoln running....love

😛😍😛😍 yes and yes...I love his running as much as I love to see Tom Cruise run. So I see this is a part two, what happened to part one?

My 2 cents.....even though Glen got to be lunch for this episode...I'm not sad he is gone...I will admit it was a shock a major character was killed but he got on my nerves plenty of times always wanting to go back, go on his own, splitting the group. He will not be missed by me at all.
Now Michonne lil fence scene had me in my living room cursing up a storm! I'm not ready for her, Rick or Daryl's exit not one bit....the Alexandrians are tooooo pathetic....the Mayor would have enjoyed killing them on pretense alone.

Did anyone discuss Rick shaving for the first time and the end result....omg that mofo is too fine!

Not so much roll but laying flat he'd fit, he's small. It's obvious the dumpster had been pushed if all those walkers were behind it. It was squarely against the fence when they fell, no walker could fit behind it. Granted there are walkers on the other side of the fence and they could have pushed it over but the fence couldn't just completely disappear in that wide shot unless the dumpster was moved.

Oddly you do see something slide under the dumpster, but its hard to make out what it was.

The show has already faked us out with Glenn. How'd he get away with three walkers on top of him? Never explained. Just clip and he walks out the woods

My dumb argument is if I had to watch Nick in "Fear" walk around in the same flipping clothes for over a week and a half just to do a product ad for the damned jacket, then Glenn can scoot under a dumpster to hide for however long it takes.

No idea how Rick's getting out.

this is a bit off-topic but has anyone else noticed how the nasty, sticky, gooey, gory walkers mostly have clean, brushed silky hair????? shouldn't they have dredlocks clotted with blood and bits of leaves and sticks and crap??? i know it's not important. just thought i'd criticize the show to make its hold over me lessen so i don't feel quite so bad about glenn's possible demise sigh ha. take that, continuity directors. neutral

i hope glenn makes it, but i have a sinky feeling that the writers will make us suffer this season by killing off some of our favorites. i'm afraid that even if glenn does survive, someone else equally important will be torn from the fold and maybe right quickly like boom! just gone with no warning. the old bait and switch herring of "look at my right hand all waving around over here while my left hand kills your other favorite character"

Considered.

The 4 things I do know that are in the comics.

Daryl doesn't exist.

Glen dies in a completely manner.

Rick loses a hand.

Carl's face is horribly disfigure

So yeah something's got to give. But the way it was shot was to trick and they've done it before so its not out of the realm of their integrity. Glen could be dead now or the initial shock of the possibility of Glenn's death was setup to lessen the impact when they do it on a further episode. Or since Carol is saved then they need to do a zombie out of a beloved member of the group. Something they haven't done yet. Meryl don't count. I dont see that either given the size of the hoard he'd be completely eaten.

smile here's what the show's producer, david alpert, has to say about the fans' collective reactions to glenn's role in 603:

.

from: http://variety.com/2015/t...201626861/

.

Do you guys pay attention to fan reaction after big episodes like this? Are you sitting there reading the comments section and cackling maniacally to yourselves?

.

Everybody’s just been happy, I’ve been getting a lot of emails and messages, people telling me how thankful they are… [Laughs.] Yeah, no, I’m not the most beloved person when I’m walking out right now, but in a weird way, when people tell me they hate me for what happened last night, I take it as a compliment because it shows that they care, because I made a lot of other things that nobody talks to me about at all, so it’s nice when somebody cares.

.

.

.

We love our fans — the main thing is, we don’t listen to everything they tell us. We think that giving everybody what they want all the time isn’t the way to actually give them what they want. I have two children and if I loved them, they would eat cookies for breakfast and cookies for lunch and cookies for dinner, and that wouldn’t actually be what they’d want, because they would get stomach aches. You watch “The Walking Dead” because people you love die … whether you admit it, that is part of the reason you watch the show, so if we stopped killing characters you loved, you wouldn’t like the show anymore! So we embrace the outrage and the hostility as just another expression of love.

I agree.

As much as I like Glenn, it would be cheap as hell if he got away. Entire settlements of people dying, but somehow this guy escapes from being literally buried beneath a flood of zombies... because we like him, I guess. rolleyes Ridiculous! I'd honestly lose some respect for that storytelling.

Gimple says we'll see Glenn again, but I don't think he'll be alive and in one piece.
