It's hard to argue with that forecast now that Troy Tulowitzki is back in the lineup. And also knowing Mark Buehrle will be nowhere near any Blue Jays' postseason roster. razz

For the National League, it's apparently a rule that only the Cardinals or Giants can win the NL pennant so I'm predicting a Toronto/St. Louis World Series.

I'm rooting for the Cubs, Mets, and Royals. Otherwise, anybody but the Dodgers. wink I still keep getting confused with hearing that the Astros are in the American League. I remembered them being in the National League since I became a baseball fan in the late 80's.

Let's go, Astros!

I'm not sure if C.C. Sabathia was going to pitch against us tomorrow, but now he's not. He just checked himself into alcohol rehab. That's a courageous move and I hope he gets better.

The 'Stros beat the Yankees pretty good last time we were in NY, taking 2 out of 3, and the loss was 1-0. We're throwing probable Cy Young winner Dallas Kuechel so I like our chances!

AND, my anniversary is 10/10. I bought tickets for the first home playoff game, which would be 10/11. So we'd better win, or I'll have to go to Plan B for anniversary stuff!

Wow, Sabathia's absence is staggering. I have to think it took an incredible amount of courage to leave when he did. I hope he has a full and complete recovery.

I don't see the Yankees making it past tonight's game anyway. Dallas Keuchel owns them this year while Tanaka I believe has an ERA of over 10.00 in his one start against the Astros.

AL Wild Card Game: HOU 3, NYY 0

W: Dallas Keuchel (1-0, 0.00 ERA)

L: Masahiro Tanaka (0-1, 3.60 ERA)

This game turned out exactly how I thought it would--Tanaka would give a respectable performance, maybe allow a first inning home run and the Yankees' tired bullpen would give up additional runs, but Dallas Keuchel would pitch a shutout for Houston. Yankees one and done in the playoffs this year.

Chicago (Jake Arrieta, 22-6, 1.77 ERA) at Pittsburgh (Gerrit Cole, 19-8, 2.60 ERA), 8:00 pm ET, TBS

The Cubs have the edge because in 1989 Back To The Future Part II predicted they will win the World Series this year. smile

The Royals have unfinished business to take care of this Postseason!

Jose Bautista is a buffoon. I would almost cheer for the Jays if it weren't for him.

This should be an awesome postseason- every team is great. I'm a Yankees fan but they had no business being there

What happened to the Blue Jays? I thought they would steamroll over all teams to win the World Series. Now they are one game away from being eliminated.

Very questionable call in the 7th inning of the Dodgers/Mets game and now the Mets' shortstop is out for the postseason with a broken leg.

The slide was not dirty, it was completely within the rules...but it was hardcore and old school, something you rarely see in baseball these days. Utley was within an arm's length of the bag, and it's his job to break up the DP...regardless of the fact that he took a HARD knee to the face for his troubles. The questionable part is why Utley was called safe, and this is why you can't have instant replay in baseball. The "neighborhood rule" has always been the norm, but when you have video evidence to show just how far the fielder is from the bag...it raises questions about what is considered "the neighborhood". These things should have been ironed out before putting replay in effect, but whatever. So...they called him safe on the foolish replay, even though he never touched the bag...but had he not been called out by the umpires, Utley would have scrambled his old ass back to the bag while Tejada lay face down on the field, which is why they called him safe. Just a mess...I just hate the fact that the Dodgers are getting DESTROYED on social media right now, even though they did nothing against the rules.
