Yeah that's how I took it. When I saw Lance Gross pop up and now all of a sudden she's working for the FBI, I assumed that Orlando Jones' character was killed off. But he came back as a demon-troll? spit

I think Headless killed Orlando with a special sword or something..Then Inchabod's 100yr old Son brought Orlando back as one of his Zombie helper-trolls..The entire story was pretty much wrapped and done during the Season 2 finale....That's why they're playing with us on Thursday nights..

I watched last weeks accidentally (meaning I just didn't change the channel) It wasn't a bad episode. It was interesting enough for me to try and check it out this week.

^^^Don't know if that will be entertaining or boring, but I'll DVR it anyway to see.

So far season 3 of Sleepy Hollow is average. It's barely enough to keep me interested every week and if it wasn't for my DVR, I'd probably forget to watch it. The chemistry between Abby and Crane is much more visible than the past seasons (though I bowed out of season 2 early). It's almost gut wrenching, you just want them to kiss and get it over with. This whole "we're platonic but clearly there's deeper feelings there" scenario is not helping.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Well I think it's kinda of a weird cross over. Yes they are both FOX shows but they seem different. Now I've never seen Bones but I don't think it's a SCI-FI show like Sleepy Hollow (once again never seen Bones) It's kinda like if CBS did a Supergirl/Hawaii 5-0 crossover.

How would that be possible?. Bones is a contemporary forensic detective show. Zero supernatural events. SH is throw every kind of supernatural/doomsday folklore you can in, kind of show. The 2 don't mesh.

Yes if Sleepy Hollow is to do a cross over it should be with a show like Super Natural (But that won't happen since they are 2 different networks)

Oh my, you're serious. They've done it.

welll damn it Glenn can be under the dumpster, no death trade necessary.
I know wrong network, but seriously Bones and SH meshed together is a serious stretch. Even more so given Bones main premise on logic and science. I quit watching Bones long ago once the 2 main characters hooked up got married and started having kids.

This is a problem these kind of shows always face. People want to see the two leads get together, but then tend to tune out once they do. Sleepy Hollow sounds like Bones seven years ago.

I'm looking forward to seeing how Temperance will scientifically explain the existence of Ichabod Crane when they meet.

I hate that, why does every one feel the need to do that and why do the fans want that?? It ruins the show. I know people wanted Mulder and Scully to hook up and I hated that. I like the relationship how it was. Dam a man and a woman can work together and not have those feelings for each other.

Fox reveals Bones, Sleepy Hollow crossover details (and why they did it)

Fox is breaking its silence on that Bones-meets-Sleepy Hollow crossover, giving reporters some story details and explaining why the network is mashing together two dramas of different genres.

At the Television Critics Association’s press tour in Beverly Hills on Thursday, first Fox announced this official description about the crossover episodes, which air Thursday, Oct. 29.

On Bones, “the grisly discovery of human remains lead Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Booth (David Boreanaz) on a hunt for clues, during which they encounter Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) and Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie), searching for answers of their own. Realizing that they are after the same evidence, they team up to solve the mystery. Then, immediately following on Sleepy Hollow, the intrigue continues as Ichabod’s old nemesis is back from the dead. Ichabod and Abbie need advanced forensic help and expertise to stop him and turn to Brennan and Booth to unlock 18th century secrets using 21st century science.”

A Bones producer likened the crossover’s science-meets-fantasy mash-up to Fox’s The X-Files.

“The Bones/Sleepy Hollow crossover is like a great episode of The X-Files, where the Bones hour is the Scully, logic-based perspective and the Sleepy Hollow hour is more Fox Mulder-esque,” said Michael Peterson, executive producer of Bones. “Put them together, and it’s going to be a great two-hour event that fans of both programs are going to love.”

While Sleepy Hollow’s new showrunner Clifton Campbell added, “When the idea came about to create this crossover event for fans, our writers’ room was immediately energized. The creative freedom to merge these two worlds which, at face value, seem so different; but at their core have such striking similarities – mystery, intrigue and methodical deduction, wrapped up in such strong character partnerships – was a challenge that we all welcomed, and we believe that fans of both series will be very satisfied by the result. It was a terrific collaborative experience across the board and we are eager to see the fan reaction to Ichabod and Abbie working alongside Brennan and Booth.”

Later, Fox chairman CEO Dana Walden told a huddle of the reporters that Sleepy Hollow season 3 hopes to return to the dynamic of the first season—which was much higher rated than the first.

“What we asked for a return to the storytelling model of the first season, a little bit more of the fun instead of such a deep mythology that got a little bit dense,” Walden said. “We’re still proud of the episodes of last season. That show takes an enormously huge swing. It’s not like they’re just doing a traditional cop show, where there’s a formula. Part of it is finding what’s the mix that’s most successful. But I would say our observation was a lot of the show last season moved into the fantastical world, where it used to be a show that was weighted very evenly between Abbie in the real world and Ichabod in the fantastical world. We’re trying to shift it back so it’s a more even-handed storytelling engine.”

A tiny part of me is curious just to see how Brennan would react. But I not interested enough to sit thru an hour of this.

Soon it'll be Flash/TVD/Arrow/The Originals/Reign show.

7 Reasons Why Bones and Sleepy Hollow Crossover Makes Complete Sense

#1 The Original Idea Came from the Powers That Be

Clifton Campbell, Sleepy Hollow's showrunner and executive producer, explained the genesis of this unlikely pairing. "Dana Waldon (Co-Chairman/CEO of FOX Broadcasting Company) wanted to see the marriage of the two shows that we could come up with compatibility-wise in a fun and promotable way. We at first were certainly challenged by the idea of doing something like that, but within that challenge found a great deal of fun in pairing the two up."

Collier and Campbell and their writers came up with some ideas for the top brass, explained Campbell further. The network loved the idea of a Halloween promotional event, and the rest is history.

#2 The Challenge of Writing Such an Unlikely Pairing was Highly Rewarding

While we have over 250 hours of proof that these two writing teams thrive on challenging themselves to come up with mind-bending scenarios, it appears they couldn't resist jumping completely out of the box to accomplish the impossible this time, and had a lot of fun doing it.

"It's always nice to shake things up creatively. These (are both) clearly defined franchises," admitted Campbell. "The writing was the most daunting and rewarding. How do we get these characters to do and say the things we want them to say and still remain true to their own characters, and what sort of plot would make the differences as seamless as possible and make that shift from one show to the next?"

"It was very, very, gratifying to work with the Sleepy Hollow team to come up with a solution to that," Collier confirmed.

#3 They've Already Overcome Their Greatest Challenges

"It's intrinsically harder to put Sleepy Hollow in the Bones (universe) because we don't acknowledge that the supernatural exists," Collier said. He posed the question we've all been wondering: How can the brilliant scientists and investigators of Bones be oblivious to "a reality that is very (clear and integral) to another set of characters in the same show? We had to have a story where both elements could coexist."

And how could they do it convincingly ... without making the geniuses look like idiots, one has to wonder?

"That was a tightrope act that (Bones) had to walk. We had to put our heads together and come up with a terrestrial crime that on second look had a supernatural bent that we were able to then take off (with) in our hour and solve on our side of it. It was challenging to try and a challenge to deal with our realities inside of their own."

Having seen the entire two hours of entertainment, I can attest that 1) It certainly is a tightrope, and 2) They do succeed on all accounts. How do they keep it real? Brennan does have her suspicions and confronts Crane with them in the first hour.

In the second hour, Booth and Abbie discuss the new level of responsibility she now has as a member of the bureau. When they get into the thick of what's going on, he admits, "This isn't just off book, it's off the reservation." Surprisingly, this delicate dance works for both sides.

#4 They Accomplished the Impossible Inside the Plausible, and They Can Do it Again

How did they make it all work? It looks like it was a concerted effort.

"We shot all of the crossover scenes in Los Angeles," Campbell said. "We traveled our cast and our key department heads and the people that make our show hum, and we were welcomed with wide open arms. It felt like that everybody was enjoying the experience. Rising to the challenge. The product really shows in the work."

"You guys couldn't have been better guests," Collier added. "I have to say, you never know what to expect and it could have been any number of things but everything wildly exceeded our expectations."

#5 The Crossover Allowed for Dynamics That Wouldn't Naturally Occur in These Individual Universes

"(The Bones) characters get challenged in a way that you haven't seen before. I think we're pulling them out of their comfort zone. Not that they've ever really ever been in one. That's the virtue of the show. And we're opening up a type of mystery that couldn't be told on Sleepy Hollow. Likewise ... our characters would never ever be able to do an episode in our show like they've been able to do in Sleepy Hollow."

"It was incredibly fun for us to get Crane on our show because we have a figure of the Enlightenment who is an educated man, but from another century who probably would be more like Brennan than not if he had been born in our time," explains Collier.

"The interesting part for our side was that Booth is a veteran agent and someone who takes the job and wears it like a second skin very seriously. Abbie is brand new to the bureau and has heard of Booth's name, (making it) sort of a natural organic hand off from one show to the other using that connection and the FBI investigations. It really gave us some stuff to play with using the veteran help out and support the person new to the job."

"For the FBI newbie it is "a connection and a personal journey ... to see through the eyes of someone (Booth) who has found a life balanced in a very unique way in his relationship and marriage to Brennan," explained Campbell. This also sends a wink to the audience "to see down range what could potentially happen between Abbie and Crane."

#6 The Actors' Genuinely Enjoy Working Together, Making for an Extraordinary Outcome

What surprised and delighted Bones' Collier about the commingling of their troupes was "the level of excitement they brought to do it. They were just thrilled to do it. It was fun for them from start to end and they made it fun for each other."

"In down times when we were tweaking the writing I caught everybody, cast and crew, mingling in a really nice way. And it just felt really good ... and it really shows in the end product," said Campbell. "The little things that the actors found in between the lines and the dialog and the little moments that they filled in for us," are what delighted Sleepy Hollow's executive producer.

"In their own shows, actors do that on a regular basis. Actors give you little moments and little looks that you can pull into the scenes that really resonate." Collier was amazed that in the brief four days on set the actors found and exploited the natural chemistry between them. "We kept a lot of those interesting moments in the final cut."

#7 Collier and Campbell Would Gladly Do it Again

Asked if both executive producers would be willing to do it again, Collier had this to say. "We'd love it. Absolutely love it. The whole experience was challenging, extremely rewarding."

"I agree with John. I would love to do another one. Yeah, I would say as daunting as the idea was initially, working through it with the Bones team was a great deal of fun just from a writer's perspective. And I think the product grew exponentially from those mutual conversations. And I agree with Jon, I would love to do another. Later he added, "Ultimately at the end ... the takeaway is, boy, you know, I would really like to see them do this again, and a wink to the audience that something like that certainly is possible."

It depends on how its done. For instance, when Whitley and Dwayne finally got together on "A Different World", I loved it. And on "The Office", after Jim and Pam got together, it was sort of a relief and I continued to watch the show until the end. With Sleepy Hollow, I think it's a stronger storyline with Abby and Crane just being friends, but it's irritating when the writers add that tension/chemistry factor in there that doesn't necessarily need to be there. It wasn't there in the first season, but it seems that they keep playing around with it. Like with this season, they have Crane and Abby living together as roommates and Crane is jealous of Abby's love interest. It almost makes you scratch your head. I think the show will conclude with them actually being related to each other somehow, so I don't think they will have them actually hook up, but if that's the case, I just wished that they remove the "flirty" factor, as if there's a huge elephant in the room in their scenes. It almost feels like a cheap way to try and gain ratings.

Well Arrow spined off The Flash and they do cross covers. TVD spined off the originals and they do cross covers. Now with that said they could do a Reign/The Originals cross over. I'm sure Klaus and his family were in France during this time period

Abbie is brand new to the bureau and has heard of Booth's name, (making it) sort of a natural organic hand off from one show to the other using that connection and the FBI investigations. It really gave us some stuff to play with using the veteran help out and support the person new to the job." "For the FBI newbie it is "a connection and a personal journey ... to see through the eyes of someone (Booth) who has found a life balanced in a very unique way in his relationship and marriage to Brennan," explained Campbell. This also sends a wink to the audience "to see down range what could potentially happen between Abbie and Crane." #6 The Actors' Genuinely Enjoy Working Together, Making for an Extraordinary Outcome What surprised and delighted Bones' Collier about the commingling of their troupes was "the level of excitement they brought to do it. They were just thrilled to do it. It was fun for them from start to end and they made it fun for each other." "In down times when we were tweaking the writing I caught everybody, cast and crew, mingling in a really nice way. "We kept a lot of those interesting moments in the final cut." #7 Collier and Campbell Would Gladly Do it Again Asked if both executive producers would be willing to do it again, Collier had this to say. "We'd love it. Absolutely love it. The whole experience was challenging, extremely rewarding." "I agree with John.

Well Arrow spined off The Flash and they do cross covers. TVD spined off the originals and they do cross covers. Now with that said they could do a Reign/The Originals cross over. I'm sure Klaus and his family were in France during this time period

Fleur-de-lis is French. Lettering almost looks the same. TO have flashbacks, they were in Europe at that time. Would explain their love of NOLA. Makes perfect sense to me. It'll work.

Still needs the flavoring of some superheroes though to thoroughly round it out.

Talking about crossovers Constantine/Arrow

Arrow: John Constantine Returns in Haunted Images

AR404B_0027b

The CW has released a batch of preview photos ahead of next week's episode of Arrow, titled "Haunted."

In the episode, Matt Ryan returns to reprise his role as John Constantine, establishing that the cancelled-too-soon NBC series is now a part of the Arrowverse.

Well Flash could speed so fast (by accident) and ends up in France during that time

I watch Bones regularly, but I've never seen Sleepy Hollow so part one of the crossover was my first exposure to Crane and Abbie and my inital reaction was a little Ichabod Crane goes a long way, yikes. But watching part two and seeing him in the proper environment of his own show, he didn't bother me so much and maybe his eccentricities were played up a bit in the episode of Bones to highlight the contrast between him and the Bones cast.

So I thought it was nice. Cool to see Booth and Brennan out of their element in the Sleepy Hollow episode, but I wasn't swayed at all to continue watching that series. I'll stick with just Bones.

Ha. I just found out its possible for the Flash to time travel. Centuries even. So there you go. SH and Bones have set the bar, now anything can happen within TV shows.

So it wasn't just the idea of one of them dreaming of the Sleepy Hollow cast? I understand the SH TV show was mentioned on one of the Bones episodes.

It wasn't a dream. Crane offered the explanation that he is the descendant of the original Ichabod Crane which Brennan had no choice but to accept because any other would have been outside of her realm of believability.

I'm the opposite I watch Sleepy Hollow and not Bones. I don't think the cross over will make me watch Bones.

Ah, so they didn't bring the supernatural world into Bones? Or they just didn't have it happen in front of Brennan?

Sounds like the 2 stars of each show guest starred in the other show as their characters and that's about it.

No, the two episodes were very much connected.
