Am I the only one who...

...acts as if the Simpsons ended like 12-15 years ago???

it's been AGES (easily 12 years) since I've watched a (crap/so-so) new episode, haven't even seen the movie

excellent late '80s-'90s show, but I don't think of the Simpsons as a '00s show, wtf

discuss

I stopped watching around the time you mentioned. BUT! The newer ones are better than that half-era, in the `00s.

I just don't watch the current season generally, but I did watch the Simpson/Family Guy cross over! Loved it!

There's been some good episodes here and there. Like a couple years back there was an episode where Bart wants a little brother (like the relationship Lisa and Maggie has) and eventually basically adopts (steals) a child
Good episode.
That was like 3-4 years ago if I remember correctly. I haven't been watching the latest episodes because there's only so much you can do with un-aging cartoon characters. It needs to die lol had a nice, long run. Maybe a sequel to "The Simpsons Movie" could finish it out

CORRECTION: it aired about 6 years ago. Feels like yesterday to me though.

One of my favorite episodes (probably from a million years ago lol) was one in which the kids were grown and Lisa became a success and Bart was a couch potato loser... lol

This! I don't know what was going on with the writing around that time. It sucked. But, I've noticed over the last 5 years or so, it has greatly improved. I don't watch it every week like I used to. Maybe once or twice a month. I didn't get a chance to watch it last night but last week, the episode where Marge and Homer were talking divorce was great! lol

Yes, most people don't watch anymore but still acknowledge it's on. You should really watch the movie though, one of the biggest crowd pleasers in my cinema experience history.

Yes everybody has not watched the Simpsons in 10 or more years, so what!!! they are not hurting anybody. Dam out of the whole week they are only on for half an hour. Leave them alone, bring back animation domination. Dam bitch about Law and Order and all the spin offs, they need to go already.

Harry Shearer did quit the show earlier this year but they managed to get him back (You can't really do it without him cause he does Burns, Smithers, Flanders, Skinner, and Lovejoy to name a few). They also announced earlier this year that they would not be releasing any season after 18 on dvd, citing low sales for the later seasons. I really wonder how they can afford to pay all 6 actors as well as the producers that have been there for decades. If you check the overnight ratings every Monday morning, they are very low unless the episode had a football game as a lead-in.

Honestly what else would Harry Shearer do if he quit the Simpsons?? At this point couldn't they just rip dialogue from previous episodes? You got like close to 30 years of Mr. Burns saying execellent

Well, you have to consider that all their fame makes it impossible for them to walk around anonymously. They need bodyguards, have to look good in case somebody makes a photo etcetera.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

I'm not sure voice actors suffer that same level of fame.
