I love the NFL, always have, but college football, eh.
I'm ok with just watching the highlights. I find it odd to root for a school which i didnt attend.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I'm more of the NFL fan myself. I disagree with your comment on rooting for a school you didn't attend. That's like saying I find it odd to root for a pro football team in the city where one doesn't live. shrug
The college football championship still has some flaws but it's better than it
used to be when writers and coaches voted on a mythical championship game instead
of determining it on the field.

It gets started Thursday. The battle of the border when South Carolina
takes on North Carolina at Bank Of America stadium in Charlotte NC.
North Carolina had a good recruiting class this past spring. Will Steve Spurrier
find his next good qb in Connor Mitch? South Carolina has a good receiver in
Pharoah Cooper but no other experienced receivers on the squad. Brandon Wilds
returns as the top rushing threat.

But not odd to root for a team for which you didn't play? LOL, just kidding. Although I'm assuming you root for the team that plays in the city in which you live, correct? Or at least, were born in/grew up in?

I root for Ole Miss now but I didn't go there. I am, however, paying tuition there for my two kids. Oddly enough, I've found that I have a greater rooting interest for the college that I'm paying tuition to than for the college I graduated from.

Well that, and Ole Miss's team is 10.000% better than SMU's and plays in the greatest division in the greatest conference in the land.

My fandom could be a GEICO ad...

When you grow up in Madison and attend the University of Wisconsin, you root for the Badgers. It's what you do. shrug

That said...I usually also cheer for any Big Ten team against any non-Big Ten team. Except for Nebraska. Nebraska can suck it.

Most people may move from one city to the next. Doesn't meanyou loose your support for the team. (It's akin to:Sorry, grandma-you move south to Florida I can no longer support you!)

That goes without saying. All my coworkers are transplants and fans of sports teams located where they used to live. I'm not talking about those fans.

If you're watching the Gamecocks this season you gonna need Hennessy too
with that Swiss cheese defense they have. I root for the home team but
it looks like all they did was put a band-aid on a season long problem
last season defense.

OLE MISS
43

ALABAMA 37

Ole Miss now ranked #3 in the AP poll, but many writers think they are the #1 team in the nation right now.

We head to Oxford Thurday night for the Vandy game. CAN'T WAIT!

Hotty Toddy!

We beat Vandy, who played a great game. Tip of the hat to the Commodores, they really came to play!

But more importantly, we beat the Sports Illustrated cover jinx! woot!

We went to the Vandy game. That SI issue was sold in almost every store, LOL. Someonw mentioned the cover jinx to me and I thought, "Dang! It's been so long since one of my teams was on the cover that I forgot there WAS a jinx!"

Hotty Toddy, Ole Miss is #3! (And number ONE in ESPN's Power Index!)

Players are saying dude was showing up to practices, meetings and games all messed up. The man has a problem, hope he gets help. But he's not ever coaching at USC again, IMO.

Maybe they can get Ed Orgeron back. Everyone loved him, and he did well when he was interim coach.

Well, well, well - now we know how Florida's Grier was able to slice the Ole Miss defense:

http://deadspin.com/repor...1736075233

Multiple outlets are reporting that Florida’s starting quarterback, Will Grier, has just been suspended for the rest of the season. ESPN is reporting that the suspension is because Grier tested positive for performance enhancing drugs.
