Are you an Introvert?

Don't answer so fast. You might be surprised.

The article I was going to post but basically after reading it I felt like banging my head against a wall. Confused the heck out of me.
http://blogs.scientificamerican.com/beautiful-minds/what-kind-of-introvert-are-you/
There's a test with this one.

http://blogs.scientificam...-stand-up/

Quick Quiz: Which of the following are signs of introversion?

Highly sensitive

Deep Thinker

Reflective

Introspective

Negative emotions

Socially Anxious

Defensive

Vulnerable

Always prefers solitude over social interaction

Answer: Not a single one.

(Well damn, just slap a person upside their head)
...What's more, there are lots of people who view themselves as "sensitive introverts", when they are really covert narcissists. These individuals are characterized by their sense of entitlement to social attention. Accordingly, they are hurt easily by the slightest remark of others, are hyper self conscious and self absorbed, and are frequently upset that others don't recognize their brilliance. Covert narcissism is strongly associated with neuroticism, not introversion.

I used to think I was.
I think I was just shy at times

I'm a Gemini, I didn't know how to bring the 'shy' and life of the party guy together

I'm not an Extrovert

I love being by myself. If I don't get 1 day out of the week where I don't have to be with people and I can draw read workout eat watch movies design without being bothered I'm happy.
I think a lot I dream in vivid color, very movie like dreams
I enjoy quality company

.

I always thought an Introvert was a Deep Thinker Reflective sometimes Socially Anxious Vulberable in that they have to keep a guard up because they are open

preferes solitude

I used to be chubby most of my life, so shyness was a factor, but I concealed it with sarcasm and dry sense of humor.

I don't think I'm introvert anymore, but I'm somewhat reserved & cordial among strange company, until I get too familiar razz

My test results:

Restrained Introvert
You aren't the type of person who regularly speaks your mind, and you rarely veer outside of your comfort zone. You are good at sticking to your agenda because you aren't prone to impulsive behavior.

I'd argue I'm a bit less disciplined in my aloofness than this test suggests, but I guess I appreciate the idea I'm in control. Makes me sound a lot less of the social coward that I actually am. lol

Yep, I'm an introvert though those close to me say that I'm not. Deep down, I really am an introvert though. I'm very shy with people I don't know and I'm not always one to make the first move, just depends on my mood that day. I took the quiz though and here are my results which I can say are pretty accurate:

Result: Thinking Introversion

You have a great relationship with yourself because you spend a lot of time thinking about what kind of person you are, daydreaming, and fantasizing about the future. You enjoy your rich inner mental life, and you like to think about how you would act or think if you were subjected to circumstances faced by other people.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Yeah, I got this one as well....although I would not characterize myself as introverted, nor do others think I am.

I feel I am a true Introvert and preferred/specifically selected anti-social individual (during my free time), severely independent, self thinker.... Empath. All that is me. And I love time alone. My work is opposite of most of this, except independent thinker. Even with a highly social job... I find time to work alone as well. Tricky at times. (And I am zero percent shy)

I want to try this quiz later.

Introvert and extrovert labels are over-simplified and out-of-date.

This is the way that I understand it;

You have two guys standing against the wall at a party where everyone is dancing and having a good time. One is shy, one is an introvert.

The first guy wishes he could be in the crowd, dancing and having a good time, but whatever his issues are keep him from joining in. He is SHY.

The second guy is content to be sitting there, observing everything going on around him with no genuine desire to participate. He is an INTROVERT.

This is interesting. Seems I'd be shy around strangers, but an introvert around those whom I know.

yes, great example.

I like this one too: an introvert gets energy from being alone, an extrovert from being with people.
