Let's talk Wrestling!

I've been a wrestling fan since 1998, I was 9 at the time. The one wrestler that made me a fan was Goldberg the guy was awesome and the only wrestler I knew of that could duplex the big show, who is 7 foot and 500 pounds. Now days, I watch wrestling every Monday, not because the product interests me but because of habit and tradition. Lately the current WWE product is TERRIBLE ,it's a snoozefest and they usually have the same feuds and same wrestlers wrestling each other weeks at a time. Sadly I don't think wrestling will ever be great again. I recently obtained the 1998 season of WCW MONDAY NIGHT NITRO dvds and it's so good! and today's wrestling product doesn't compare at all. I just wanted to know if there are any wrestling fans on here and what are your thoughts on WWE and wrestling product now days?

I am a wrestling geek myself and it is in a low period right now but the NXT brand has some good stuff and it looks like they are trying to bring that to Raw so hopefully it will get them WWE out of the funk they are in

Was a HUGE fan back in the 80's-90's, I stopped watching once WCW went under and WWF had no more comp.

I've been a fan for years; first show I attended was a WWF house show back in Feb 1987...MAIN EVENT: Harley Race vs. The Junkyard Dog. My dad took me for my 13th birthday; I was already hooked, but that solidified it.

-

I watched every wrestling show that came on TV: WWF, NWA/WCW, AWA, World Class, GLOW (remember that?). I stopped watching religiously after the fall of WCW in 2001 (I always preferred the NWA to WWF), but I still read the dirt sheets everyday so I always know what's going on. WWE is PURE GARBAGE, and has been that for quite some time. "Sports Entertainment" is not WRESTLING Nowadays I'll watch their PPVs (for $9.99 a month you cant beat it!) and my son is upstairs watchng the NXT special right now, but the only wrestling I watch is Ring of Honor. I went to their 13th Anniversary show in Las Vegas back in March; I have been to I dont know how many live wrestling shows over the years, but that ROH PPV was the best wrestling I have EVER seen live and in person. No doubt about it.

-

The future for WWE is bright...they have a lot of ready made stars in NXT...once Vince turns it over to HHH and Stephanie, I'll start really paying attention to WWE again.

Same here UncleJam, it always seemed more real for some reason.

I remember GLOW, Sally the farmers daughter was hot! LOL!

I watched them all too, remember UWF Wrestling w/ Missy Hyatt, Eddie Gilbert, Missing Link etc...?

WCW in its prime was THE show to watch.

The NWO was incredible. People actually would throw things at them, they were THAT much of a badass.

At the time, I remember watching one episode of WWE (or WWF at the time) where Linda McMahon was about to be raped (or something to that effect)...that alone turned me OFF from watching WWE. Even now after the demise of WCW I rarely watch it anymore.

I'm a part-time Wrestling Geek...Meaning WWE-Thursday is programmed to record on my DVR and sometimes I watch it and sometimes I just delete it....If you stop watching Wrestling for a month then you'll lose that "addiction"...My favorite Wrestler is The Mighty Rusev...And I got some BAD news for all you John Cena fans cuz he can go somewhere and Die....All I wanna do is Bitch-slap Dolph Ziggler one good time...Sheamus is my Dawg...Bo'weirdo Dallas is my Boy....And ALL the WWE-Diva Wrestlers need to STOP wrestling, put on a tight mini skirt with some Fuck-me-pumps and just be side-chicks...Their wrestling matches are yawn-worthy...I'd pay any amount of PPV Money to see them wrestling in Mud every week...

I've been a wrestling fan since I was a kid and my grandmother used to take me and

my cousins to see it in person. I go back to the good old NWA days when Ric Flair was

a young un and there was the likes of BlackJack Mulligan, Paul Jones, Rufus R. Freight Train Jones,

Wahoo Mc Daniel, Johnny Valentine, Mr Wrestling Tim Woods, Tiger Conway, Ricky Steamboat, etc.

As a matter of fact I saw some wrestlers sponsored by a Heating and Cooling Company in my area.

They come to the Strawberry Festival in my town every year. I got to meet and talk with the Rock

and Roll Express, 1/2 of the Fantastics, and the Barberian. I used to dig Georgia Championship

Wrestling on Ted Turner's Superstation on Saturdays where you had Tommy Wildfire Rich, the Junkyard Dawg, Ole Anderson, Thunderbolt Patterson, etc. I didn't get into the WWF now WWE

until the late 80's but me and my homeboy always thought that it was more of a circus than

actual wrestling like WCW. LOL at Chancellor talking about the WWE Divas. I actually find them to be more interesting and sexier than

their counterparts of years past with the exception of Trish Stratus and Christi Henne. I love Naomi with that lethal booty shake and Tamina, the Bellas, retired AJ Lee, Paige, and Alicia Fox.

Don't laugh at my funk

Oh, yes...dark, smoky arenas and blading in damn near every match! They had two of my all time favorite wrestlers...Dr Death Steve Williams and Terry Bam Bam Gordy (may they both RIP). IIRC, they were the first two UWF champs. Hell, I remember when the UWF was Mid-South Championship Wrestling and Ted DiBiase was there big star (before the Million Dollar Man days). Good times!

wow y'all talk about wrestling that wayyyyy before my time but I Bet it was fun then. in my opinion wrestling started to suck in 2008 when WWE went PG meaning no cuss words,no bra and panties match, a lot less blood. Its mostly a kids show now and all the kids look up to John cena and his character is so stale and he can't wrestle one bit. He's been the same character for 10 years, usually wrestlers turn bad guys but not cena. Cena is also close to beating Ric Flair's record for being world champion 16 times which would suck if he beats it but I know he will. I'm about to quit watching the new WWE and just watch old wrestling dvds instead
