Wonder Woman Movie Gets New Director

April 2015

Warner Bros. has found a replacement for Michelle MacLaren, who left as director of the Wonder Woman feature earlier this week over creative differences.

The new director is Patty Jenkins, according to The Hollywood Reporter. This isn’t the first superhero movie to which Jenkins has been attached.

She was signed to direct Thor 2 back in 2011 but left after “creative differences”, just as MacLaren left Wonder Woman. Although at least one of the stars was upset about the change, the film was completed on schedule.

The quick replacement of MacLaren means that barring new problems, Warners is likely to finish Wonder Woman in time to make its scheduled release on June 23, 2017.

So we have a director who bailed on a sueprhero movie replaced by a director who bailed on another superhero movie.

If you decided to plunk down your money and watch this movie, don't say I didn't warn you. There's no way this can be good.

Unless Josh Whedon is involved, I'll pass.

I'm going to withhold judgment on every aspect of the film until I've seen it (in 2017, God willing).

Red, white, and blue just so happens to be my favorite color scheme so I noticed right away that that's missing from Gal's costume. I'm going to hold my breath that this is a great movie and that Gal is a great Wonder Woman. #ilovelyndacarter

I thinking as time goes on she'll add to her uniform (the stars) making her look more like the characters original look yet still up updated.

This outfit looks more like it belongs to Xena, Warrior Princess. Xen's boots are more practical though... lol

That's good. She could eat a little more too if she wants to, I wouldn't mind more curves on Wonder Woman. She could look soft but be of course strong enough to get the bad guys. smile

I think Gal could pick up a bit more muscle mass, but I don't mind that she's not altogether buff. I like the idea Wonder Woman's... well... wonder comes from things beyond her mere physicality.

Sorry, but an anorexic Wonder Woman doesn't work. WW is close to Supes in terms of raw, physical power - cast someone who fits the part.

Wonder Woman and Superman can lift several tons. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that's probably not owing to their mere muscles. Let's have some imagination.

As it were, Gal may not look like some teenage fanboy's wet dream of a drawing, but as a trained athlete, soldier and weapons expert, she more than fits the part of... a trained athlete, soldier and weapons expert.

I think she'll be fine.

Wonder Woman is not suppose to be muscle bound. Her strength has nothing to do with that. From what I know her powers were gifts from the gods.divinely blessed you could say.

This!!

Gal is gorgeous no doubt about that, but Wonder Woman is meant to be a tall, toned, Amazonian woman. Unless Gal is going to grow and few inches and hit the gym Hugh Jackman style, I can't see this working from a visual point of view.

I've read that Gal was hitting the gym all during production. But I think the direction was more to tone rather than to bulk. As for height, Gal is reportedly 5-foot-10. Not quite the 6-foot Amazon of the books, but closer than Linda Carter's classic 5-foot-9.

Actually I will feel more comfortable with this movie after they report they are done filming it, and I see some on set photos.. Same with Jason Momoa's supposed Aquaman movie.
