Hypnosis

Last night I saw Peter Powers
For those of u who haven't heard of him - he hypnotises audience members on stage
I went there being sceptical and thought it's a set up
But some of those ppl he hypnotised sat with their families and friends on tables near by
When they came off stage they seemed confused and lost - they didn't know wtf happened to them

It was amusing and interesting smile. .

What r your thoughts on hypnosis? Do u know anyone who has been hypnotised?

I guess this was in Vegas? PP has done some shows for Dutch TV, so I know who he is. I have no problem with using hypnosis for entertainment, but I think it can be used for better things than to make people look foolish. Still, it's a fascinating phenomenon. A Dutch institute for the study of hypnosis offered free sessions for those who wanted to try, so I did. It was a very relaxing experience and strange at the same time. Contrary to what you may believe, I was aware of what was happening all the time. Somebody is talking to your subconscious as if it's another person while at the same time you're hearing everything she says. There's so many strange things to the human mind...

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

I've been hypnotized on stage four times. It's awesome!

Most people don't remember what happened but I remembered most everything each time. The hypnotist (it was the same guy all four times) said that hypnotism is like sleeping and dreaming. Some people sleep deeply and never remember their dreams. Others sleep lightly and do remember. I'm one of the latter.

I could go on with lots of stories but the main point was that under hypnosis, it never occurred to me to say "No" to any command. So I did whatever I was commanded to do - even if it was something I didn't know how to do! Once I was told to tap dance and my mother freaked out, because she KNEW I'd never had tap dancing lessons. And yet, apparently I tapped very well!

The other cool thing was how good I felt after hypnosis. Of course, the hypnotist told us that when we woke up that we'd feel great all night long, we'd go to sleep whenever we wanted, and no matter how much or little sleep we got that we'd feel great all the next day. And that's just what happened!

I read that psychologists use hypnosis
to try to help clients with phobias, find
out the root causes for problems, etc.
Some use hypnosis to find out about
a persons past life. If a person
experienced some kind of trauma, then
that energy causes them to have illness,
and oher types of issues in their current
life. Sylvia Browne also practiced
hypnosis with some of her clients. She
called it past life regression. She stated
that not everyone can get hypnotized.
A person has to believe in it and wants
to do it.

I would like to find out about my past
lives. So that would be the only
reason for me to try hypnosis. From
a certified hypnosis expert.
