Neither of them are the "bad guy." This is a Justice League origin story and if they follow along the lines of the Justice League Animated Series (like "Man of Steel" followed along the Superman Animated Series), Batman and Superman merely have different perspectives on how to battle their enemies.

I'm sure this will pull a little from the "Dark Knight Returns" comic as well. Good writers have been able to base Superman and Batman fighting each other, on having an outcome for the greater good. So any fight they may have in this film will lead to bigger and better teamwork with the Justice League.

This trailer is AMAZING and I for one am looking forward to Ben Affleck taking Batman to a whole new level in cinema! I cannot wait for this movie, it will be greater than Avengers and Star Wars combined in my opinion!!! But that's just me and I love Star Wars and the Avengers!

Tell me, do you bleed? You will!

Well I guess, but I was a kid that religiously read every DC comic back in the 60's when the Justice League of America was formed and I can tell you that the trailer ain't nothing like what really happened back in the 60's.

i must admit, i was feigning ambivalence but THIS LOOKS EPIC!!!! i so wanted it to be a beast of a movie and this looks like it might just be. i hate all the Marvel/DC, JL/Avengers comparisons. I hope it breaks box office records!

The powered exoskeleton Batman is wearing in the clip gives him heighten strength and protects him from traumatic injuries. In addition, he used a Green Kryptonite arrow to exploit Superman's only vulnerability.

With you there...still looks like Ben Affleck in fancy dress, where as Bale was Batman/Bruce Wayne

just to be clear batman could never ever beat superman in a fair fight. (that is they both know when and where) Superman would take about a second to kill him.

the times batman won superman let him win.

now if batman could get a load of Kyrptonite and took superman by surprise....maybe.

somehow my batfleck angst has subsided. i didn't intentionally let it go, but for me the magnitude of this movie and what it is setting in motion surpasses him. the Nolan/Bale Batman films were great and I WISH Bale would've stayed on, but I think Nolan MADE those films what they were not Bale, maybe because we've seen so MANY Bruce Waynes, his imprint was significant but not indelible, or unsurpassable to me.

Actually Keaton still bests him in my book. GASP! pros and cons with both, but Keaton's cerebral Bruce Wayne aligns with what Batman is to me, a smart, gadget savvy billionaire, unlike Bale's brooding Wayne. Keaton gives you the impression he feeds ideas to the Lucius Foxes in his world

I never read the comic books so I have no idea what this fight is about, but I like Ben well enough to go team Batman for now. I'll see. I like the tone of Ben's voice better than Christian's voice so far too.
What?

I'm excited for Batman vs. Superman, and I never had any problem with Ben Affleck being cast as the Dark Knight...but I just dont get why it's a Batman "reboot" or "alternate universe" or whatever. After the exceptional Nolan trilogy, to reboot so quickly makes zero sense to me. I understand why, but it just shouldnt be.

Make it so, Number One...

Nolan's Batman is based in the real world, where aliens (Superman) and demigods (Wonder Woman) don't exist.

It's to cash in while this constant barrage of comic book movies are still profitable unfortunately.

Remember before "Spiderman" when comic book movies wern't constantly shoved down ur throat every fucking summer LOL. To reboot this quickly is desperate even for hollywood.

Also, the character of Superman is one of the hardest to pull off on the big screen I feel as he is so dull as a character. And as has been said, this is not really a VS movie anyway.

At least "Howard the duck" tried something different LOL.

Totally agree! He's just so powerful there's never a situation he's in or a villain he's up against where you think "whoa, Supes is in trouble now!". The Superman films always feel like a forgone conclusion.

I agree with that. The Superman story is messianic, and Man of Steel was the film with the most explicit messianic overtones. That leads to the problems you all are talking about. Superman and Superman II tried to deal with them by making Superman vulnerable in different ways (falling in love, surrendering his powers, being outnumbered, kryptonite, etc.)

But Man of Steel tried to deal with those problems by turning the mirror to us -- how would we REALLY respond to him? We'd be terrified, and try to capture him and send him back to where he came from.

The trailer for Superman v Batman seems to take it to the next step -- "yeah, he saved us, but can we really trust him?" Batman, egged on by Alfred, seems to be in that number. My guess is, Superman's revealing himself and/or the Big Bad's appearance will lead to others like Kal surfacing.

I'm really digging the Frank Miller-Dark Knight angle. I really hope that movie could be made someday. Actually, I hope they weave some of it into B v S.

That's because the movies don't use the right villians. Doomsday, Darkseid, Braniac, Bizarro, Mongol, Parasite & Metallo all give Supes a run for his money.

I'm still pissed that this Sups vs Bats / Justice League (whatever) film means that they will never produce the NIGHTWING spin-off movie hinted at the ending of The Dark Knight Rises

(fan made:)
